tie down lugs

    what are the two holes in the center of the bed rail behind the cab for? can i put a tie down lug there and how much can it hold? 2016 tacoma trd off road short bed

    They are mounting points for the factory tonneau cover! I just put two stainless bolts in mine. Makes it look better! They are standard M6 threads!

    Not exactly sure how strong they are since all they do is hold the toneau cover in place you know.

    There is no way I'd trust that. If I remember looking at mine, it almost looked like they were nut-serts.
