I think the Mo4wd folks are putting a few events together but I haven't checked their site in awhile.

Pretty soon a few guys in the area are wanting to get together to have a mod + BS day and I have a heated shop so I imagine it will be at my place. Check in on the "St. Louis" thread in the regional section to follow up on that.

Offer still stands if things change.

My giftee will get theirs on Monday! I hope s/he likes it! It seemed from their pictures that it was the only thing they were missing from their rig!

I'm also still patiently waiting on my gift but I'm really not that worried about when it shows up just as long as my recipient is happy!

Had to break my code of weekend internet abstinence for this one, rather than keep my SS waiting (since that's a dick move)

Came home last night and there were several boxes on the front porch. Since I've been ordering a lot of Christmas presents on Amazon of late I didn't think much of it and just brought them inside. We had a party to get to ('tis the holiday season, after all), and I was late getting home from work. And this morning I got up at dawn's a*s crack to finish my Christmas shopping before all of the as*holes dragged themselves out of bed. So it was a day late before I even noticed that one of the packages from yesterday wasn't one that I had ordered...

So I grabbed my pocketknife (which didn't take long, since it's a dedicated part of my EDC and lives clipped to my pocket) and opened that b*tch up.

    Mother F*cker. He even gift-wrapped that sh*t.

I wasted no time ripping those presents open, because secretly I'm 7. First package yielded some nylon straps with chromed steel rings on them. I was vexed, so I repacked them and snapped a photo.

Second package made more sense, and is a GREAT replacement for the Katahdin filter currently rattling around in my GHB (Get Home Bag). Less bulky, zero moving parts, and just as effective!

The third package was even more sweet; Portable Power! Kick Ass! Stupid smartphone can't even last a day in the woods without running my battery into the red because it spends all day searching for a signal that isn't there. This little unit fits PERFECTLY in the side pocket on my 3-day pack, can charge my phone for days, and has a flashlight to boot! Plus it can be charged from the solar charger I keep in my truck. Score!

4th package suddenly made the first one make sense. A hammock! The first unit was tree straps! :homer:
Silly me immediately unpacked it and spread it out, and now I can't figure out how to make it fit back into the package. :frusty:
Lucky I snapped a picture of it first! :anonymous:

Thanks so much, to whoever my SS was. Unfortunately there's no information on or in the package other than your real name and the city of origin. Looks like I've got some reverse stalking to do, unless you opt to unveil yourself (hint hint, threat threat).

And if you're ever in Maine, hit me up so I can have you over for a beer and some BBQ!

    *end post*

    Edit-
    Reverse stalk complete, @colinb17

Glad you like it. Boots are for Moog UCA ball joints, and the stickers should add 1" of travel each ")
