eBay fog light kits for '08-'09-'10 Tacomas....

How did you guys feed the cable through the firewall? Coat hanger? Drill a hole? Do you have any pictures? Thanks.

 

...Look for the large bundle of wires that feed through the firewall (driver's side of firewall); there is a rubber grommet that seals this access point; on this grommet near the lower passenger's side is a nipple, about one-quarter-inch in diameter. I simply cut the end off (it is sealed on the engine side) and fed my wires through there. I later sealed it back up with a zip tie, around the wires I fed through.

Yea, the switch that comes with the kit is junk. Good advice.

 

The one on Ebay is very similar to what I installed in my truck, and like the other members stated, buy an OEM fog light switch. Which can also be found on Ebay for about $20. The factory switch installation location is the top set of three blanks on the dash (left of the steering wheel), the actual position for the switch is the first blank on the left.

Today and yesterday I installed the fog light kit, the same that most of ppl here used. It was not that easy to do, but finally I have all the wiring installed. Now I have to wait for my toyota switch to arrive (surely tomorrow). I'm pretty sure that all will work well, I don't think I would have done it if it was not for this post as a guide.

I used the add-a-circuit also in the fuse box so I would not tap into the existing wires. For the ppl who want to install the switch in the upper 3 slots, you don't have to remove the dash, just lot of patience (that worked for me).

I used the corner edge of a small (1 inch) puddy knife to remove the blank from the dash and the OEM fog light switch fit perfect (insert from the front) without removing the dash like you said.

 

These switches have been posted again on eBay, I just bought one. Good price for them.

WOW. I called the dealer today to see if they had one in stock and I am not sure what kind of drugs he was on he gave me a price of $201 for the switch and mentioned something about the sterring column. Any ideas what he was talking about or what he was on?

 

Will these fog lights fit with the factory wiring on the truck?
It seems like it but i'm not 100% sure.

That kit comes with 9005 bulbs. The Tacomas use 9145 bulbs. You could swap connectors at the bulb and they should work fine. Maybe you could avoid the connector swap if 9145s will fit in the same place as 9005s. The bulbs are similar , but that doesn't mean they are interchangeable.

This kit mentioned earlier in this thread is the one I used and it came with 9145s.

can you buy these kits without all the wiring, bulbs etc.? i just want the black housing to install in the factory location, and since i run hids in the fogs, i don't need the other stuff that comes with it
