Also don't forget to have it in neutral before you try to go into 4L. Mine wouldn't go into 4L, so I went to the manual to learn that I had to be in neutral. Once I did that, it went in fine. Sometimes, though, as someone above pointed out, you have to move the truck a bit and try again. That's also in the manual.

Took a proud new Jeep Rubicon owner out offroading. The owner had never been offroading before. Prior to going I asked the owner to read the owner's manual from front to back and to understand how to engage and disengage all the 4x4 doo-dads. First time stuck, I suggested engaging at least one of the lockers. Was informed the lockers were yet I noticed one wheel in front and one wheel in back were not spinning while the opposing wheels lost traction. I asked again and was informed that, yes, the lockers were engaged as the button had been pushed and the light on the dash was blinking. I told the owner that I'd wait at my truck while they actually read the owner's manual...

Your locker turns on as soon as you shift into 4H or 4lo?

Something is seriously wrong then if it does. Locker isn't supposed to turn on by itself first off, and also shouldn't be able to turn on/engage in 4H.

Was trying to be funny, but seeing how literal and lack of sense of humor so many have around here, I guess I shouldn't be surprised at your reply.

Lol, yes. And this one too!

However If I started this thread I would of deleted it after realizing what I did wrong and that it's not an actual problem. Instead people keep talking about there experiences or repeating why the op is having the problem... So the thread continues to grow... Senselessly

I promise I won't add anymore non sense to this thread after this posting

    Are floor mats a mod?

OP-shift to NEUTRAL, then 4 lo, then crawl control. Just asked my bud to do it in his 2016 and that's what worked.

Something is funky. So in 4H the locker engages? Light on dash isn't blinking?
