    Hello taco lovers.
I recently went to stealer to look up if I "qualified" for lower ball joint recall...
    2001 Prerunner

    Nope!?
EVENTHOUGH I snapped my left one before?!
What to do without dropping 3gs on a aftermarket front end ?

What lowers (brand) have owners ran without snapping? Anyone heard of a upgraded one??
    Thanx

Ball joints will fail for a number of different reasons. Your truck is almost 15 years old, it's about time you see some wear on your front end components!

I know a few people with first gens that use Moog ball joints/bearings and other components, they seem to have pretty good luck! I believe they come with life time warranty as well.

Only some are recalled because there was an issue with those specific ones. Possibly a poor metal, improper manufacturing process, weak point, etc.
That being said, all ball joints wear and will eventually need to be replaced. 15+ years is a pretty good run. If you perform regular maintenance and inspections on your vehicles a worn ball joint would be discovered before they break completely. Barring a failure from an impact.
Moog suck, but are cheap. OEM are the best but expensive.

Are the best, but most expensive? I don't care how good "the best" is... Toyota wants 450 bucks for a "lower balljoint" since they don't sell it separate from the LCA, and they still wear out!! I'd rather do 50 dollar Moog BJ's every 6 months rather than shelling out 450 bucks and doing an entire LCA every two years!!

Plus once you do it the first time.. It just gets easier :)

But I'm not sure how it works for you first genners when it comes to Toyota BJ's.

    Thanks Taco brothas
    In 2012 I snapped LBJ.
    At a drive thru. Haha

But that shit happens at 70mph. Won't be funny or pretty.
I replaced all BJs with Moog. Oriellys counter said Moog supplies Toyota under "555"
    With a lifetime warranty.
That's useless if I kill myself or others"

There's a lot of squeaks up front, Bushings.
I want to replace LCA & BJs again but wanted to check if anyone had something in between stock and full travel. Really don't need 16" of travel for freeway on ramps Nor do I have a small fortune for that. I thot I read Napa had better articulating LBJs but could just be propaganda.
    Thanks again
