its 2wd? Do you know what gears you have? (there's a code on the door sticker) Your owner's manual should say tow rating.

8.5 x 20?! That's a single car enclosed trailer. One little crosswind breeze and it's over. Do you have a trailer brake control? Probably not. Please don't hurt anyone sharing the road with you when it gets bad.

You can rent a truck or suv for 2 days for the price of the brake controller. Not only is it unsafe to tow with your truck, the wear and tear is not worth it.

What is the tow rating of your truck? I have dcsb with v6 and it is rated for 6800#. I tow PJ utility trailer that is 1500# empty add my Deere that's 2800# that's over 4000# my truck knows that is back there. I think you will kill your truck, not to take into account the side winds and stopping factor. Make sure that you have extra pair of under wear.
    My 2 cents

the 2.7L are rated for 3500# with 350-500 max tongue weight. you are literally at the max of you're towing capacity.

with 2000# I notice it with my 3.4L and if you plan on going up any hills forget it, you'll burn up something :(

do what @TACO626 mentioned and rent a truck. If you plan to use this trailer with your truck get a bigger truck :)

if you travel straight flat roads in good weather and only go 60% or less of the posted speed limits you "should" be able to manage getting it there but your truck will strain to do it. as mentioned, if there are any hills then odds are high your engine or tranny will overheat and burn up, or break, or both, and you better understand clearly that you absolutely cant stop that much load even with trailer brakes, you can only gradually slow it down so you better have blocking vehicles to give you a clear path to drive it into a ditch if you "have to" stop.

    can you do it? probably
can you do it without damaging your truck? probably
can you do it without causing an accident and hurting someone else on the road? maybe
should you try to do this with your truck? hell no!

a one day truck rental is much cheaper then needing a new engine or tranny after or the lawsuit if you cause an accident

OP asked us what we thought. So far everyone above agrees its not a good idea. The OP's response is a defensive one every time. It looks like he's going for it anyway.

Some take advice and others learn from experience. And sometimes learning from experience can be hard.

Lol thanks for the input and opinions really appreciated, not trying to be defensive but this towing plan still wayy ahead me so i might or might not do it even so i do it will make sure safety for me and ppl around me will be top priority
As far as the truck itself its toyota it was built to do everything, i had 91 pickup with 22re 5speed i towed Uhaul 5x8 cargo trailer full of one room aprtment stuff and my mechanic tools from houston to dallas tx
Was it hard? Yes took me slow to take off and braking
Uphills and downhills? Just use low gear and engine braking
Did i make it safely? Yes i did took me longer bc i drove slow

IMO our toyota can do more that we expect to do trust me just dont baby them just make sure maintenance updates
I grew up around toyota, learn how to drive with 1979 toyota land cruiser hardtop that thing is bulletproof TANK i went down to swamp with np,not even lifted just 4x4 my dad used to have 3 of them badass cars

a 5x8 trailer with some furniture on it is nothing near a 8.5x20 enclosed trailer !!!!!!!!!!!! not even on the same planet of reality

you cant just say its twice the size of a 5x8 so you know what the load is, the weight of that empty trailer is a lot more then two small fully loaded trailers would be.

also a 8.5 wide trailer means you will not be able to see around it so you must back up blind and have people walking behind you to do so.

yes these trucks are tough and can handle a lot more then people give credit for but you are asking an ant to carry a brick

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I believe the max towing capacity of your truck is right at 3500# so 3300# would be pushing it especially if that's just how much the trailer itself weighs. If you load it down it will be way beyond what you are supposed to be towing and if the DOT stops you for any reason you will be slapped with a hefty fine and likely have to park the trailer and have a buddy with a bigger truck come pick it up for you.
Just some things to consider, not trying to bring you down or anything but I also hate to see people get hurt or in trouble with the law over pushing the boundaries.
Tacomas aren't the best for towing, they never were to begin with. I wouldn't even tow that much with my 3.4 to be honest, anything more than 2500# and it's time to fire up my F-250 diesel. Aside from a small, lightweight utility trailer loaded with mulch or yard-work supplies, it's best to leave the big jobs to the bigger trucks imho.

he is towing unloaded but as others have stated it is pushing the limit. as mentioned above if you get pulled by popo there is a good chance for a ticket if they're feeling chippy.

now renting a one-way V8 full-size truck to haul it wouldn't be too bad, maybe a couple hundred?

5 speed is a stick. no valve bodies and fluid overheating to worry about... even with an aftermarket tranny cooler it will be a problem in the auto.
