What?!? I had that on my build and Toyota dropped it due to supplier issues. They exist again? Ugh.

I'm installing the Extang 2.0 tomorrow, and plan on following all the advice I've read on it.

I had the Flex on my F150 that I sold to get my 16 Off Road. Loved it. However, I don't know if I want to be drilling into the bed of the Taco to put the drain tubes in.

I am pretty sure the Taco already has the holes drilled but they just need to be widened. Have you seen how much modification is needed for the Toyota cover?

With the space between the cover and bed when up causes lots of drag. It's better to be up against the cab.

Not a big deal unless you're traveling far.

I would rather make the drain holes in the plastic truck bed bigger than a steel truck bed. No worries about rust.

Why not just make the drain tube a but smaller? It will still flow plenty of water. Just check it a few times a year that it doesn't get clogged up.

Almost pulled the trigger on the "UnderCover" over at AutoAnything.
I've read mixed reviews but then I noticed this is NOT returnable at AutoAnything.
That scared me a bit. I've been waiting for the BakFlip model, guess i'm going to wait a little longer.

Ok, I just finished installing the Extang SolidFold 2.0 and have to say it foes on really easy and fits pretty well. No drilling, and it comes with the only tool needed - an Allen wrench.

You can also unscrew the 2 screw knobs and take the cover completely off if need be. The 2 side rails would remain in place unless you wanted to take those off and gain an extra inch on each side of the bed.

    The Extang Solid Fold 2

I just watched the videos for it on youtube. Seems like the one that would be best for the Tacoma. Considering the fact that you dont drill or screw anything. It is already weatherprooof without needing drain tubes. Just found it on Amazon for $709 with free delivery. There is a 3 year warranty too.

Owners of the Solid Fold 2 have reported water issues in one of the other threads on this forum. To be fair I don't think any tonneau cover manufacturer advertises that there cover is 100% weatherproof.

If you tighten the clamps down too far then the gaskets can't seal as well as when they have some flexibility. I read their future responses and after they adjusted the clamps the cover fit much tighter. When I installed mine, I made sure to leave some flexibility in it. I hit the cover with my pressure washer, and there were no leaks.

I had a factory cover that came with my explorer sport trac. I can tell you that there was never a single drop of water in my bed and I had that truck for 13 years.

I have a bakflip on my 2000 Tundra and plan on getting another one for my Tacoma. I like the looks of the new VP. I'm not worried about creases in the vinyl as I haven't rode with the cover flipped up for very long.

Yeah, I used some ducting sealant that we use at work.
