    Sure, I cut almost 3" down low, about 2" half way up and about 1" at the top at the seam was mostly done by a little massaging with a hammer then welded it up
    Edit: about 1" of that is the pinch weld

    Any one hear anything about the Cooper MTP? From the little bit I could dig up on it, it is a new tire from cooper exclusively for discount tire. It retails at a cheap $230. I am coming up on the end of my MTR's and am looking for my next tire.

    Was planning on 4.56 now thinking 4.88s. For those of you running 4.88s can you drive over 70 without sucking gas like a mofo.

    Hey buddy. I have 4.88's and I go about 65-70 on the freeway as my normal speed. If I am conservative with the pedal I can get about 16 mpg.

    What size tires? I'm running 4:88's with 37's and am a little under geared with an auto. My opinion with an Auto 4:88's are perfect . I've heard 4:56 are ok with 35's on manual trans.

    Edit: if you want good gas mileage, lower your taco an make it a hybrid ;)

    I'm running 35 Red letters which weigh a ton with 4:10s on the 4L and i don't mind it at all for highway, city etc.
    Im a little under gunned when I'm in the hills in 4h air down to 12psi though...... 35s on 4.56s would be a better options if you had a choice but id never go 4.88s on 35s.

    I have 35's now. That's pretty much the consensus that I've come to. Before regearing I asked a lot of people and I got

    35's and auto : 4.88's
    35's and Manual : 4.56's

    That's about right, some people prefer different but if you gear you should be back to about stock tire to gear ratio. My truck has plenty of power and go with 4:88's on daily driving around town but when I go uphill it's noticeable cuz the truck can't find a gear to stay in. You don't "save gas" just cuz you under gear. Now if you over gear like 4:88's and 32.5's you might be a little reved up

    I would, besides... it's a truck! Best feeling and drivability especially off road or up hill is with big tires and geared properly.
