Fizzlestones on mine, I still hold a grudge against Firestone for making those 500's in the early 80's and then the Ford Explorer debacle in the 90's. Once a company makes junk and puts it in the marketplace I stay away from that company for life. I'll be ditchin' my Fizzles in January. For those with a short memory...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firestone_and_Ford_tire_controversy

So you don't buy toyotas either due to unintended acceleration issues

That was a fear-scam from the american auto industry to cut the sales from toyota following the GM bailout and recession.

Is that what you have to tell yourself? So you know the explorer firestone debacle was actually a Ford problem and nothing to do with firestone.

Can I ask why you don't like them? I have never used their tires before but have always wanted to give them a shot.

I have the same wheel/tire combo on my SR5.

After looking closer at the sticker (unfortunately I noticed this after purchase) I feel like they double-charged me for this. I paid for the SR5 appearance package which has alloy wheels, and I think sticker is maybe $800-850, and then they charge again for premium alloy wheels of around $650-700, if I recall correctly. I get the "package" thing, but I think just getting the option of the premium alloy without the appearance package and it's set of alloy wheels would still be $650-700. I don't know, maybe these wheels should be that much more than the appearance package, I haven't ever priced wheels. Seems wrong though.

We replace them 100:1 compared to any other brand. I've yet to see a set of 4 that were all round. They spin like ovals on the balancer. Even if they are round, the tread is rarely straight. And even if that's not the case, they still take excessive amounts of weight to balance

We took our new OR out yesterday and the Goodyears did well, even at 35 psi in sand, light mud, and dirt.

To say Firestone had no knowledge that Ford was recommending 26 psi in their tires is absurdly ridiculous, I'm sure the tire manufacturers are consulted beforehand. Low PSI resulted in excessive heat buildup and the tires shredded, both Firestone and Ford are responsible. I've had tires run low before TPMS came around and they never shredded because they weren't Firestones.
