    batteries where frozensolid . Thawed them out and they recharged no problem. Yellow tops ftw!

    A red tops life will be extremely shortened if youre constantly draining it near death and bringing it back to life. It is a starter battery as in it doesn't like to drop below 10.4ish volt ever.

    Vs a yellowtop that will do a total drain and recharge no problem. Well. To an extent. It handles the abuse much better anyways.

    Yea its better for a second battery for sure. I originally had a red for starter and yellow for second. But now I'm just dual yellows.

    Beefing up the electrical system and dual batteries has paid for itself tenfold.

    I'm planing on doing the big 3 doesn't seem tOo hard and now that I pulled my motor I have more clarity where the wires go throughout the motor and what not! What amp alternator are you running?!

    I have a cs144 gm alternator. Is a 140 I think. But can do around 100 at idle

    The advantage of the yellow top is that it can be deeply discharged repeatedly without damage and still be used as a starting battery. You do the same thing to a starting battery like a red top and it will eventually kill it.

    The yellow top still has limitations though. I think it is rated at 300+ deep discharges.

    Maybe. But I guess it depends on your perspective too.

    By comparison, both Northstar and Odessy rate their starting deep cycle batteries at 400+ discharge cycles to 80% capacity. But these two are significantly more expensive than a yellow top.

    In any case, an AGM type battery is definitely worth the investment.

    Anyways. Grabbed the smaller rack and it is perfect sized. Won't have to cut one of the big racks. But the hump the extended cab is throwing me off. Not totally sure what I'll do yet.

    Well this is gonna work great! Found some extra slide nuts in the tops of the main rails.

    Found some bolts in the bin of Toyota bolts haha just a mass collection of bolts from working on them for so long haha used em to hold down the led bar bracket.

    Yea thought of that. But then the cross bars that are curved for the roof wouldn't be in contact. Just not sure Id like it raised like that.
