So me and a couple buddies want to do a 4 day camping/wheeling trip. Were from Fort Worth so we need somewhere thats close enough for a one drive. Any Ideas?

I know the A&M off road club is joining us (All Wheel Tech from TTU) to our Alabama wheeling trip. I'll text some buddies see if I can get some more info.

Also, if y'all want, come to Sand Drags Feb 26-28th at the Canadian River north of Amarillo. 500+ vehicles come out to wheel from what I've heard. Stuff for everyone.
If you come, hope you've got a strong liver and can stand rednecks every direction. Also, you'll need a Texas Off-Highway Vehicle Program sticker or you'll get ticketed.

We need to do a big Texas Overland Expo. Who on TW would be the right person to start and organize something like that?

My group is driving from Lubbock to San Antonio to Austin (where i'll join) to Houston to Gilmer for the off road meetup on the 17th, picking people up along the way. Y'all are more than welcome to join and head on up to the meet with us.

Also, always down for an overlanding expedition :drunk: Big Bend has always been a good in-state road trip destination

Might be down for Big Bend
Hell if you y'all want to get the NM people involved we could always go to Las Cruises and watch everyone break drive shafts

Big Bend would be a great trip for a group. From the maps, photos, and YouTube videos, there looks to be a good range of trails from simple to more difficult...plus plenty of camping! Anytime would be good for me, I'd just need to put in for vacation. I agree as well- I think Summer might get a tad miserable out in the desert.

Hidden Falls, Padre National Seashore(PINS) and Big Bend. Places i have been and would recommend for camping and wheeling.

For me, Hidden Falls wouldn't be an overland since its half an hour from my house. For an overland trip that would be fun for anyone, I feel Big Bend or Las Cruises (NM) would be the best. They're both all about off roading to see terrain and not to beat up your vehicles (You can avoid hard-core stuff in Las Cruises, although there are trails $80k+ crawlers try to no avail). If we go to either of these i'm bringing the mountain bike too :D

Don't disagree a bit on hidden falls. Big bend was awesome and would truly make for a more overland style trip. As would Las Cruises

Yeah comparing big bend to hidden falls is like comparing six flags to a kiddie park lol.

Y'all coming to the Gilmer trip? Details for a Big Bend can be brought up there to a group in person.

Totally down for a Big Bend trip
