I am not a big fan of pinstripes. In addition, I was pretty worried about removing them for fear of a half-done job, or worse, paint damage. I braved the removal today after calling local body shops, asking if they did pinstripe removal, with no luck.

It is 45 degrees, here today, so I pulled my truck into the garage and got my wife's hair-dryer. I went along the pinstripes warming them with the hair-dryer set on HOT. Then, with my fingernail, I started peeling off the stripes. It went very well (my truck is just over 1 week old) , probably because of the fresh clear coat. It took about 20 minutes and I think it looks much better. Here are the before and after shots:

I'm not certain if they were "factory" pinstripes, or dealer add-ons. Either way, I didn't like the look. And, THANK YOU! :)

I'm guessing they weren't painted on then!!! LOL

Looks much better without them. Nice job.

Is it just me, or did this thing look like an early 2000s Tundra with the pinstripes?

I don't know about all that, but it looks completely different with them off. I had to look a few times to make sure I was the same truck.
