So I finally got to try some off roading yesterday. I tried 4hi and then tried 4Lo with the crawl control on...very strange noise coming from the truck when I engaged the crawl...it was like a ticking or rattling sound when it engages...is this normal?
The sound went away once I was rolling for a bit...pretty cool feature that I think I can get used to...just weird not using your feet!
After I finished off roading I tried a speed test on a straight back road. I tried flooring it with etc on, both with sport mode and regular mode...had her up to *** an hour...seemed totally steady and firm at high speed...the truck moves pretty good when you step into it!

That's the computer controlling the speed, and braking, etc for CRAWL... normal sounds as we are told.

Apparently you weren't watching every video that came about the new features and testing prior to the release (and after the release) of the vehicle like some of us. Some great videos out there showing it crawling over rocks, in sand and about everything else. The Tacoma Washington testing videos were great, but there are others out there now. Just google and you'll find the videos and you can hear the sounds it makes.

This is what I was going to say.

Every single video of CC blows up with clinks and clanks and cracking noises.

The first thing I learned about crawl control was that it sure didn't seem impressive, and everybody within earshot will know you can't drive when you actually use it.
