Haha no worries. my system works... just not as cool as a baja rack...

    No clue... lol.

I have a roof box I use for food, chairs, stove and wood. Works well and everything is dry and locked. I WANT a baja rack though. I don't really see the use in keeping the box if I got a baja, and vise versa. I can't do skiis or snowboards inside the 4runner if more than 3 people go which may or may not be an issue depending on the trip. I also do week long biking and hiking trips in fruita and moab. It is amazing how much crap you need to bring for biking.

Speaking of which, I have a Thule hanging hitch rack now want to move to the tray style, I was thinking Kuat Sherpa or Yakima 2" Hold up. Any experience with either of those?

    you are catching on...

Kuat racks are so nice! Definitely one of the best platform racks out there.
Also, if you want to keep using your roof box but want a Baja rack, check into the Kuat Xtender. Not sure if it's compatible with the Baka Rack but it should give you use of cross bars for the box.

It is funny you mention that. I was thinking of going that route.. I think it is so cool they integrate the bike mounts into the basket. Apparently they don't lock though... Idk how well they would do with disk brakes too...

I tend to find 4wd campsites so anything in the hitch is going to hit the ground. I was thinking having the option of moving the bike to the roof if I wanted would be nice. I could put the skinny next to the box though, same thing as the vagabond but narrow. http://kuatracks.com/products/roof/skinny/

Are you talking about a fork mounting system? Same deal with the quick release front tire although you may have a through axle. Just don't squeeze the breaks while the wheel is off

    I have QR.

I know about the brakes. That would be so annoying to deal with at the trailhead...

My notifications sound like a machine gun today!

Should be a good next two weeks. My oba will be installed. New sway bar bushings. Rear wheel spacers, ditch light brackets, lights, roof top awning, rear coil spacer, and snorkel should all be here by new years! :bananadance:
