I use the crossbreed style holsters and couldn't be happier. They look bigger, but they're WAY more comfortable than any other holster I've tried...even on hot summer days.

Bought a vg3 for my 19. I have been waiting for this for a LONG time. I'm happier than a pig in shit. I can carry my glock 19 and my surefire x300u-b with a dg switch appendix inside the waistband. I definitely reccomend

Had a hell of a time finding aftermarket sights for my Pt111G2. Did a little filing to make a universal shotgun front sight work. Can't wait to try it out at the range.

Just bought a springfield xdm yesterday. My first handgun. I plan to carry it in the Minneapolis ghetto. Now I need to start hoarding 9mm ammo.

I've thought about picking some of those up. Seems to be similar to a Barnes TSX. Would be interested to know the lower limits for expansion, as I load 300 BLK as well as 308 Win. I actually shoot light-for-caliber 308 loads for hunting - I just stepped up to a 130 gr bullet from 110 gr this year.

I use the VG2 with an M&P 9C for my daily, and am also very happy with it. Sometimes I just pull the belt clip off and stuff it in a pocket, as you can use the edge of the pocket to flip it off the trigger guard. I do the separate light thing, mostly because I always have a light on me for work anyhow.

Going off of google its designed to penetrate glass/barriers without breaking up or deflecting. Not so sure how it expands.

The base is basically a copper slug, for penetration just as you mentioned. But the front is just a lead HP, similar to a Sierra gameking (probably a much thicker jacket) and will definitely expand at rifle speeds. I haven't seen anything on how well/what speeds it works though. Not much out there on this bullet yet. For the price, I might have to do some testing.

Congrats on the Springfield, though. They're nice guns, just don't fit my hand right, so I can't really use them without having to adjust my aim every time. :pout:

I have big hands so it fits great. Shoots really nice too. Here's my first couple clips with it.

I do a weapon light, and a separate light. I want all the lumens.

As for the vg2, I like the idea for an MP, as they don't make an eidolon for it. But, as I only mess around with glock outside of work, I carry that in an eidolon if I don't need lb

Picked up a Savage Mark II FSS 22lr for plinkin/dispatchin varmits.
Any recommendations for optics and mounts. Something middle of the road. Places to buy.
It's got threaded holes on the topside for mounting I presume.

Whats middle of the road for you? For some people thats a 250 dollar scope while for others thats a 1k scope.

I have a Mueller APV 4.5-14x40AO on my ruger american rimfire. I like it. Its not as nice as my Vortex Razor HD but its good for the 25-50 yards i usually use it for. I only shoot for groups with that gun so it might be to much zoom for varmint control. I use it in the rain and cloudy days here in the PNW and its bright enough to still see through. Cost is ~150 or less

As for mounting...you'd be fine with any of the big brands. leopuld, vortex, burris, weaver, ect. My rifles have all sorts of brands for mounting and I havent really noticed an advantage in one over the other. Just get the scope and see what size rings youll need and run to the local store and pick some up IMO

And yes the holes on the top will be for attaching a rail to attach scope rings to. id personally go with a 0 MOA base over a 20MOA base. Its a 22lr so you arent going ot be needing that much elevation to need a 20MOA. Im not familiar on what base youll need though but Im sure some googling will get you good recommendations on one!

I saw a couple Leopuld and Nikons in the $200-$300 mark. Was kind of what I was thinking of spending.

Might want to check out rimfire central its another forum but theres a lot of knowledge over there and lots of recommendations for rimfire scopes and such. Im not sure what all is out there anymore in that price range to be honest. Been awhile since Ive bought a scope

I see a decent number of people running the Nikon rim fire scopes but I have no personal experience. I'm a vortex fan though, their military discount makes it even better.
