2.5" or 3"?

Good day,
I was just wondering what would be best? I would love to get a 3" lift kit, but my concern is if it would fit through my garage after lifted, my garage is 7ft tall. Also whats the best way to get to it or reccomended, for my expenses for this project i dont mind the price

I went the (cheap) route of a ready lift kit 2.75" with a 1" blk in the rear and had drive line vibrations and harsher ride. Although, it is the inexpensive route it's not the best route. Save or if you have the extra cash go with some coilovers, I went with King Coilovers and let me tell you what a diff. way better than stock and not to mention way better than the readylift kit. Cost more but u get what u pay for.

hope this helps. If u have 3" clearance or more with ur current set up btw top of cab and garage door u will be fine.

 

also planning on putting 285's on as well, do you think it will increase the height as well?

I'm not an expert, but, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

After doing my research and for what my budget allowed, I went w/ 5100's all the way around, Eibach Springs and TSB AAL

The front is set at .85 and with the springs they come out to 2.5 inches of lift. The back sits just a little bit higher than the front. You can go with 1.5 inch AAL and it will level out. I have 285's and I had to trim the fender flares.

I love my setup, but I have only had it for about a month now.

3". I have mine lifted 2.5" with 265 75 16s and I can't even tell its lifted. If you can find someone that has the same setup that you decide to go with, PM them and ask them to give you a ground-to-middle of fender (see picture below) measurement. Then take your truck and put a jack under the front and back and lift the truck up until you reach the measurements you were given. That way you will know if it will fit in the garage. Keep in mind, the measurements could vary slightly. Hope this helps!

I put a 2.5 rough country on my truck and im very happy with it.

 

I clear a 7ft door no prob with the OME 3 inch..I have a couple inches to spare to also increase tire size for some add'll lift.

 

Go with the SAWs they're a good coilovers for a decent price. Then get the 1.5" or 2" AAL. You should be able to fit 285/75/16 or 285/75/17 with minor trimming. Good luck!

 

Also I forgot to mention getting new UCAs to compensate the lift to keep your alignment right.

 

Yeah, it will lift your tires up about another 1 to 1.5"

Do you have pictures of your truck? I have King 2.5s waiting to be installed this Friday.

 

A 7ft garage door is 84" tall. You will fit no problem as a stock tacoma is only about 70" tall give or take an inch. You should have over a foot of clearance so you could even get a 6" lift and 35's and still fit.
