    I am changing out the oils in my rear, front differential and transfercase.

    I decided I am going to change the bolts out while I am at it.

    I've seen those around a few times before. How good are they? Did you get decent (for $20) lights or screwed out of $20? :notsure:

    Because wind. I was almost eaten alive by my RTT like a bug in a Venus flytrap once upon a time. It's not something I want to experience again. Ratchet strap holds the cantilevered portion down in the gusts although I think it's less of a problem now with the tent on the roof as opposed to the tent over my truck bed - less air space between the two.

    I'll make a mental note of that next time it's windy. I always carry a ratchet strap anyway.

    If I know the wind will come from a particular direction I park so that the ladder faces away. If I can't do that then I hook a strap around the awning spring pole and my wheel. Not super tight, just enough to take the slack out of the strap.

    I was out in a storm the 1st summer with the tent. Set up just before it hit and was facing the wind. I was hanging out up top, waiting for the storm to pass, when I heard the wind coming, like a freight train. Things started moving and I was inside stretched out, body rigid, screaming as my tent started to close. I thought the whole truck was going to tip over. I climbed out the opposite end, afraid Id hurt something since the tent was sitting partly closed with the ladder vertical. I packed things up quick and moved to a different spot down the mountain. Never forget that trip... :laugh:

    Not really a n00b, just ask Sam. I bounce around between the Colorado BS thread, 4runners.org & now here. I got an idea from (down the hill) Phil @ Rock Therapy '15 about mounting one on the front bumper & one on the rear for use as rock lights, but didn't want to use Rigid duallys @ $110/each. Looking for something that won't make me cry when it gets trashed.
