    Clear lens?
We use glass cleaner with TP or paper towels unless it's pitted like that, when it's pitted just trash it and get a new one, they're cheap and a dirty lens will fuck you up.

This one went to point of no return. I use the tp/pt method too, seems to be always readily available lol just wondering if anyone have used a specific "lens cleaner"...

I've found I can buff a lens that looks like that and use it longer, usually 2-3 times longer. Quick wipe with some cleaner, then a dab of Rain-X glass buffing compound(also buffs out headlight haze) on a clean red shop rag and the lens looks great.

Great idea! I'll have to try that out... I did a lot of overhead and 6010, I'd hate to just burn through lenses.. Thanks

Have you ever tried a headlight restoration kit on your lens? I've had really good success with mine, but yours looks a little worse off. I use it every once in a while and it keeps the mask lens lasting a little longer than it would with just glad cleaner.

My first ever attempt tig welding stainless. Self taught. I don't know how to control my heat at all. But I didn't think it was too difficult to grasp the concept.

    Excellent advice!
Polishing metal is an art by itself! I spent some time at a chrome shop when I was a kid. And I have much respect for that line of work!

As cheap as outside cover plates are i changed mine every morning before I started as I was drinking my coffee.

Right now I use the Radnor lens cleaner in the packets .

If there is any grinding particles on the lens it is so easy to scratch it and make it worse.

My safety glasses get washed in running water first.

The lenses for my Optrel hood are about $25-30 per pack of 5, not exactly cheap so I polish once or twice before changing. Or if I run out of new ones and my current lens is trashed.

Quite a difference between $25.00 for a box of 50 and that much for 5

One of the reasons I waited so long to go to a Big Screen Auto Dark Hood.

I don`t think I will ever break the nodding the head habit

Been working on a rear bumper the last couple days... Can't decide if I want to put the receiver behind the license plate or below it.

Do you pull the same trailer ??

Figure where the proper height will be and place it according .

Easier to have a longer drop if needed then be to low.

Is the receiver just for recovery??

That looks great man! Behind the plate with would really make that bumper clean, but you would need to fab up a hitch. 3/16 steel?

    Thanks guys
I pull rental trailers sometimes, I figure I'll need a drop hitch either way. It'll have shackle tabs for recovery.
3/16" hrpo for the shell and 1/4" hrpo for the mounts.

Got some more work done to my bumper. I'm waiting on more shackle tabs to come in, and just need to tab the lights and trailer plug. Can't wait to get it painted and installed!

Just made an extended crossmember for Homertaco's crawler box. 1/4" angle iron, 1/4" square toob, and 3/16" plate, might be a little overkill but rather be safe than sorry, plus is was all scrap metals I had lying around :D
