If people want to spend the extra dollars in labor and parts in replacing the studs with longer ones so be it. My preference I can live with it and I just making people aware of the issue with some rim combos with the new Tacoma. If they have the luxury of a rim shop closed to them, which I don't pre-fit to see.

The rim is not seated properly due to the center bore being too small. The center bore will need to be enlarged. Longer studs will not fix his issue.

Like I'd said don't care in the reference to put extended treads on. Besides the problems is not with the lug nut length, its the stud length.

I don't think longer studs is the solution...aren't you essentially smashing the center cap against the drum ? If thats the case, you are relying on the plastic center cap to hold up and and keep everything tight and balanced...it's a flaw and longer lugs won't fix it !! IMO

    Codydog,

Your right, that is why I told the tire place to not install them or replace my studs. Go figures a tire place could figure that out or thought I was a dummy. Wrong been working on vehicle all my life since I was a 12 in my dad's shop.

    Stu488,

Did you have to change out the studs? Because that is what the tire place said or did you put longer lug nuts if so you proved me wrong and were only human! Which brand lug nuts did you go with? Pro Comp has the short ones that I have on and the longer ones to.

Stock studs. The ET lugs nut are from discount tire. As mentioned above, I did have to work the center cap onto the hub to make it work. Wheels are coming off tonight for the first time to do a lift. I'll update more after that, including pics of lug nuts used.

I'm astonished by how widely accepted garbage wheels are in the truck community. They're usually all black like that, bedazzled with chrome fake bolts around the lip or star patterns in the middle. No other automotive community has embraced such hideous and poorly made wheels as much as truck-people. People think they look mean and military-esque, but in reality they're just poorly built pieces of fake man-jewelry. Stick to something like FN wheels, or Level 8, or TRD. I can't wait for this trend to die, but it's proving to be a slow and miserable passing.

    Pino,

When you start forking out your well laced pockets with greenbacks to us budget minded people then I and others can afford those high dollar rims that did not cost that much to manufacture!!!!!
