I could see Jimbo taking it eventually. Depends how much longer Saban stays though

That's because you're a Clemson fan. I can forgive you for your opinion based upon media bias.

You just thing he's a bad coach, which is very obviously incorrect.

No. I just don't think his style would fit at Bama. LSU maybe, but not Bama. I don't think he would gain any support from the fan base. It has nothing to do with me being a CLEMSON fan, or thinking he is a bad coach ( of which he is not). I just don't think that job would suit him.

I don't see why you have to have one specific coaching mindset to succeed at a job, look at Georgia Southern. They just hired a coach with zero Triple option experience.

FWIW Bama might have a hard time bringing in the caliber of player they do now without the "Saban" name there. I'm just not sure if Jimbo, or anyone else for that matter could pull the weight that Saban has there.

Do I think Saban is the best? No. But he has a system that works, just like many other coaches and staffs around the country.

He leaves there, and there will definitely be a new learning curve there.

I disagree with that as well, for one Bama has money and they can get another Saban caliber coach, which yes there is more than just Saban. And two, players go there for more than just him, whether it's the assistants and position coaches or even the facilities. In this day and age I don't see Alabama dropping off no matter who were to coach there.

It's not like the players who go to Bama are that much better than every other top 10 team, the fact that they aren't undefeated proves that.

I agree with this, and that is the system doing work. I think that if Saban leaves, so does the staff, and the system breaks down a little, even if it is just 1 position coach.

We can agree to disagree. I'm cool with it.

Yeah I agree with that, but I still don't see them ever dropping out of the top 25 teams within the next 10 years/whenever Saban leaves.

    Head unit. That's it.
Jimbo is not someone I think the AD would look at bringing in.

When Saban leaves, which it looks like he isn't, until he retires, there will be a fall off, if the AD doesn't bring in the next big thing in coaching. Alabama has this strange history of either being dominant, or irrelevant.

These are the clowns that coached while I was in school. (I also had a year of Dubose... the 3-8 2000 season.)

I witnessed shitty Alabama first-hand. No team is impervious to bad seasons/coaches/eras. Alabama from 2000-2006 is a good example. Michigan of late is another. Saban has Alabama rolling, and the team will continue to roll (IMO) until he retires. Replacing him will be TOUGH, and Alabama will need to think long/hard about how to do it. I don't envy Bill Battle when he's tasked with replacing the 2nd greatest coach in Alabama football history.

Seeing quotes like this warm my heart:

Ha. Dubose was the one I couldn't remember. Not a dig just pointing out that it wasn't so long ago that bama was an also ran.
