I called a dozen dealers all over Texas.
best I could find so far is $500 below MSRP.
most did not want to even bother with anything less than MSRP.
They claim due to the shortage of supply they will not go any lower.
This is starting to disappoint me

This is a case where us early adopters who ordered and bought before the trucks hit the ground got the best deals...My dealer has not delivered the discount I got on any of those who I sent to them. I stopped sending people.

LOL, do they even make a Texas Edition for the 2016?
The two dealerships I walked into this weekend did not even have a 2016 for me to test drive.
I had to test a 2015, then they try to have me put down a deposit on a 2016 and tell me I can test drive the truck I order when it comes in.

    few more questions:
    1. Do I need to get "D-rings or mini tie downs" doesn't it come with them? ($55/$45)
    2. spare tire lock? do I need it? ($75)
    3. door sill protector? again do I need it? ($79)

    Hey Man

Honestly my dealer was able to give me a better deal than what they were gonna be able to offer me via USAA/Navy Fed/Costco etc...they said that they didn't really have to offer any incentive on the 16s since they are so in demand. One of the things you can keep in your back pocket is that you can go in with the USAA pricing and say he give me a better deal or a comparable deal and then say that you can just go with their pricing and no do the USAA/Costco/whatever pricing (because those services get a kick back from the dealer for bringing business to the dealer, usually around $300).
Secondly honestly you get sooo much more when you get the O/R, the locking diff, the crawl control, and the multi terrain select, also you get the black fenders (which are nice, less to worry about scratches etc). Sure you don't get the fake hood scoop, and the sport rims, so honestly for me it was a no brainer but I also understand it is much harder to get an O/R than a sport...
As for the floor mats, I got the carpet from the factory (just how the dealer ordered mine) honestly I got my Toyota OEM ones on Amazon for 90ish I think and I think they had the carpet ones for about the same (don't get them from the dealer if at all possible, so much cheaper on Amazon for the same thing). The only prob with the weathertech and etc is that they don't have the available yet, so far I like the Toyota ones and they have worked fine for me so far, but we haven't had any bad winter wx yet. As for the tonneau cover, I just got my Extang Hard Tri Fold 2.0 (very much like the factory tonneau cover), will but putting it on tomorrow and will let you know how I like it, although I am pretty impressed with it so far just from outward appearances. Finally for the tube steps, I like the predator ones but with those you are paying for them to be "Toyota", I am going to get either the GoRhino Dominator II ones (http://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.co...ps/Go-Rhino-Dominator-II-Cab-Length-Nerf-Bars) or the N-FAB Nerf Bars (http://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com/Running-Boards-Side-Steps/N-Fab-Nerf-Bars) if you notice they are both less than half of what the pred bars go for, for basically the same thing...hope this helps, lemme know if you have any questions! Good luck!

    1. 2 come standard.

    2. I really don't know, And not sure if mine has it.
    3. I didn't order them with the truck, but will probably put a set on in the near future. I don't know if You need them, but I think they do a good job for the intended purpose.

    4. Completely up to you. I don't have plans for one right now.

the door sill protectors are nice. They come with the $209 carpet floor mats. I wish they were all the way across the bottom of the sill

I live in San Antonio and it's not an option. I tried that angle too. Lol'

I bought the spare tire lock because here in San Antonio those bad boys are stolen all the time.

I'm in Texas. I ended up buying from my local dealer here in San Angelo, but the San Antonio and Abilene dealerships seem to be offering decent starting points for prices on their website? No dealership I called or checked out online had a problem at least matching USAA's true car value, and although I don't tend to drive a hard bargain, I don't EVER pay tax tag and title and I make sure my payments and interest rate are exactly where I want them. I've never used the entire lean period to pay my car off, though. I just starve myself and make double payments until that debt is gone.

Everywhere I went the TRD ORs were the ones that got snapped up quick, but the SR5s and that TSS package (basically nice wheels, floormats, and tubesteps) seem to linger for a day or two.

I decided to buy a Tacoma TRD OR AC w/ tow and premium package, Quicksand. About 2 hours ago, I went the True Car route and was contacted IMMEDIATELY by 3 dealers. Dealer 1 offered to sell me a Black TRD Sport they have on the lot for about $2300 under MSRP. Dealer 2 told me that I was looking for a very hard to find model, in a rare color, he would see what he could do, but it is a hot selling item...yada yada...full MSRP. Dealer 3 said...thanks for giving me the opportunity to supply your new Tacoma. I do not have that truck in stock, but can request it to be allocated. (2100 under MSRP) When it arrives you will have first option on buying it, but are not obligated to buy. Would you like to test drive one of the trucks we have in stock?

Guess which dealer I started the purchase process with moments ago?

    Dealer 2?:D

Me I can wait, they won't be "new" in a year.

Bed D rings- Dodge Sprinter rings, I don't have the part numbers handy, do a search here. I got 4 for around $30.00.
Back the bed bolts out, slide the rings on and done.

One can never have too many light bars.
Don't know if the new ones are any different or maybe I got screwed. But the spare tire lock that came on my 2013 was a standard master lock that you could buy at home depot for 10 bucks. That may just have been my dealer trying to scheme though so look for yourself. Also I took my spare tire lock off. If someone is going to go through that much effort to steal my steel rim they can take it.

What do you mean? If there is no tax added on, something shady is going on, or do you have some weird exemption? Also,I don't know how you would register the car without paying for the tag and title. The DMV would laugh at you.

He paid the tax and title. The dealer probably said they paid it but what happened is they just subtracted it from the profit on the purchase price. If itemized on an invoice it would show it has been paid. It's just how dealers word things to make it sound like you're getting a better deal than you actually are.

I'm thinking about buying the SE at my local truck supply and let them install it that way if I have issues with it, it is guaranteed by them. They will fill the little gaps up next to the bulkhead and put a tail gate seal on for me. I contacted Undercover today about the "Elite" in the black plastic color as I like the looks of the lock being on the back above the tailgate latch. He told me 3 to 6 months before it would be available. I may decide to wait but I can live with the SE also.

Give Ron Gooding at Uebelhor Toyota Scion in Jasper, IN. a call. Or email him. I made the deal on my truck through email to him. Easy to work with. I told him how much I wanted for my trade in and he said you got it! No dealers cost at Uebelhor either.
