I hope this helps anyone who has considered this.

Lifting the truck next week and have wanted color matched flares To complete the look.

Tried to find a super white truck to swap with but haven't had luck.

Tried to purchase them but you have to purchase bare then paint. $$$

Tried to have my own painted but cheapest quote was almost $500.

So I Tried the plasti dip route. Came out OK. Color match is decent.

Cost $50 (4 cans white plus 2 glossifier plus new double sided adhesive tape to re attach the flares.)

Everything they say about white plasti dip is accurate. It doesn't work quite like the black for example. If I did it again I'd hit it with gunmetal gray first before white. I had to apply ~8 coats + 2 glossifier coats.

If there's anyone out there who wants to sell their white painted flares I'm still interested.

I wonder how this would hold up to trail pin striping...

Turned out okay. I'd hit the Toyota emblem with some white.

Would you be willing to do a write up on the removal/re-installation steps. Do these use clips like the 2nd gen? If so are they easy to break? Did you need a heat gun to melt adhesive?

Line x will do them for a reasonable price, color matched bedliner on the flares would look sweet.

Maybe I'm just cheap, but this was the quote I got from my local line-x dealer:
"If you remove them and deliver to one of our shops the price would be approx.. $100.00 each for basic black. If you wanted them top coated with our UV protection that would cost an additional $100.00 which covers all four."

This should be in the asshole parking thread… but seriously, good looking rig and I'm glad you went ahead with this mod. Looks like it turned out well.

I parked it like that so I could lay on the ground and install the fenders without hitting the car next to me.

    Removal:
Unscrew Phillips head fasteners; there are about ~7 in the back in 5~ in the front; some are a little tight to reach with a driver, a ratchet with Phillips helps / turning the front wheels also helps.
Front has some prong type clips near front / headlight of the truck; I did partially break those
Front and rear both have small blue and orange snap rivet type fasteners across the whole body of the flare, these release just by pulling, minimal breakage
Front and rear has thin double sided adhesive along the perimeter of the full flare. some sticks to body some to flare, no heat gun used and its ~40/50F here

    Re-installation
I Applied new double sided 3m Auto tape as necessary to the flare
Pressed firmly to pop the orange and blue snap rivets in
    Reinstalled fasteners.

Overall id say removal is tougher than reinstall

Given that its a trd offroad, the flares would be a textured black.

That's was I have and want to paint mine white. I was wondering if I would have to repaint them every year due to road dirt. They look great.

It's a shame you can't order an Off Road from the factory like that.

    you should look into automotivetouchup.com

I used them on my grill and the color matched perfectly. you can get it in aerosol, paint cans, or touch up markers, and you have the option of clear coat as well and they give you all the prepping info you need.

So just to confirm there are holes in the fenders to attach the flares? I am also wanting to color match or remove mine or get some silver sport flares..
