    matt might have just saved my ass with the extra t case he gave me this summer. thought id have to pull mine and rebuild it and not have the truck till its done, but i should be able to just swap this spare one in and be still rolling while i work on fixing the other one!

    jk might still be fucked, t cases between the trucks might not just swap in. need to figure out if the tacoma j shift t cases are different. looks like they are the same for the auto 4cyl and v6

    Transmission and Transfer case models for the 95-04 models
    W59 = 5sp for 4cyl (2wd and 4wd)
    R150 = 5sp for V6 (2wd mini)
    R150F = 5sp for V6 (prerunner and 4wd)
    A340E = Auto for V6 (prerunner)
    A340F = Auto for 4cyl/V6 (4wd)
    A44D = Auto for V6 (2wd mini)

    apparently just the transfer case gasket to the transmission doesent exist? and can only be ordered in a kit from low range or marlin...anyone know where the hell to find this gasket

    welp, after all that turns out i have a forward shift case and not a top shift case like the spare i have sitting in my garage. so i cant swap them out any way, looks like im back to the drawing board

    I edited your original post to show what will work and what wont.

    you should have just called me Non of the Taco J shift cases are forward shift. BTW i still have two space Jshift cases.
    As for as gasket goes i thought i told you already you just use a good RTV on it that's what the factory does. i have like 6 spare tubes of that shit.
