Most don't possess your common sense.
It's during the winding process that some will stand in front of the coil tension bar, as opposed to safely standing to the side of the spinning rod of death.
    Nice job.

When I was in high school, a buddies Dad lost 2 fingers and thumb (they re-attached but barely worked after) and he was also too side but spring snapped and got him.

So, Pederson called just a bit ago and informed me that my hubs are wrong.
    ???
I asked, what hubs? What's wrong?
He said the 4x4 locking hubs.
I said, they have been fine for over 240,000 miles, why are they now suddenly wrong?
He said they are missing parts and have rusted up solid, not sure how they were even working, must have been fucked up for years...
I said, I turned them myself yesterday morning to unlock them for you guys,They turned just fine. In fact, I rebuilt them myself just this summer.
He babbled something unintelligent at that point and I said put them back on and get the truck done please. If they were fucking bad, wouldn't this have been noticed at the very fucking start? I mean they are the second thing to come off after the fucking tire.

My blood pressure is starting to rise, now I'm doubting the parts they said they ordered yesterday.

Guys first day at work? Used to working on Mopeds? :D

On a side note- I do not like Pederson, when I was having problems with my Tacoma they said I was "imagining" things... Maybe a trip to Stevenson East/West for one of the forum guys to look at?

Better to ask what I have not done.
This is again why I try to do my best to do all the work on my truck myself. Then there is only one person to get mad at if something goes wrong. But at least I know how to fix it...... Hopefully :D

I fucking hate pederson. But I'm not willing to drive to Denver either.
I'm warming the van right now and taking a trip over there to see these rusted and fucked up hubs right now.
I got a fucking surprise for them, I bet they will show me a set of random hubs...
When I rebuilt mine I used red RVT for the seal, it better have red on it.

I've done that myself on my garage. I think some people just don't understand the forces involved and what direction they're happening and how to deal with them, etc.
Of course, I've also heard of those springs snapping and I guess if that happened it wouldn't necessarily matter how smart you were if you were standing in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Kind of surprised you're not doing this job yourself actually. I've seen you tackle harder jobs... Did you just not feel like dealing with it?

Removing the nut off of the vehicles equipped with Manual hubs is a huge pain in the dick, also requires a special tool. I could see not wanting to try this job.

    Soooo.....:bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:
First of all, I owe Pederson an apology for my earlier rant.:sorry: :anonymous: Totally my bad.
My anger was misdirected. Still angry, even more so now.

Second of all, I was off on the mileage.
It is around 9000 miles on the "new" bearings. Truck is currently at 240,XXX

    Obvious problem here.

    This made me happy. :)

    And happy feelings gone :(

    Aftermarket???

I'm thinking it was don't do the job and fuck the customer in the ass issue. Waiting to se what @lotsoftoys and @thefatkid have to say about those bearing part numbers.
Supposedly, my trusted mechanic installed aftermarket bearings, BGS brand, to save me a few dollars. I don't see BGS stamped anywhere on there.

The story on the call this morning on the hubs...
One is missing the little spring and detent ball that holds them in place and they were way rusted internally. When I showed up they were cleaning them and had them back in working order, minus the spring and ball. So Good on Pederson for repairing them.

Before I left I asked if they thought it would be ready today, they said should be ready to pick up around noon.

Koyo bearings are OEM, if that is what you are asking. Now, I have purchased "aftermarket" bearings with a different brand name, only to open the box and find Koyo or Timken

Were those packed with red clay?

Koyo is a reputable bearing company. I can't say what the PN's are or should be.
