Haha, legit question, but I live and die by the philosophy of if you can't pay to play, you shouldn't be playing at all.

That said, all my mods are paid in full every time. I'll never be the kind of person to finance any mods. At that point, I shouldn't be modding....just me though lol.

^ I absolutely agree. Pay in full or wait a little longer to save up. This truck is still one of my favs. Especially those LS460-Rs. How are those holding up?

    Thank you! :D

Paying off a vehicle isn't a very common "thing" these days, so I say congrats to YOU on that date in the future man! Relief is definitely the word. I'd rather have a monthly bill for a vehicle loan than a monthly for mods that's for sure lol.

    Thanks man!!

Yup, a little bit of patience goes a long way in certain situations. Vehicles/modding them is one of them for me. The 460's are still lighting up the road and some like champs---like the day I put them on haha. Having those really spoiled me at night. When I hop in my daily driver or another car, it's like IM BLIND at night!!!!!! LOL

Speaking of paying off, I have less than a year left :jellydance:

My mini D2S light up four lanes, I can't imagine how wide 460s are! I'm getting Muranos next week and it will be a step up from the minis. We'll see how wide and bright they are!

All is well my man! Christmas time = me spending money!!!!.................just not on myself(or my truck) :(

The only recent thing I got for the truck is this pink piece of paper that arrived in the mailbox last week. Official OWNERSHIP MOD complete. :D

All kidding aside, I should have some updates soon! They won't be too exciting, but up updates nonetheless lol.

HUGE UPDATE!!!!! Nah, not really. :D

Long overdue mod, but glad it's finally done.

Since I actually haul heavy shit with my Tacoma, I decided the tailgate needed to be beefed up. As you guys know, it's pretty pathetic how weak it is from the factory. You get enough asses sitting on it, and it will bend(so I've heard). Regardless, it needed to be addressed STAT for me.

Today, I received and installed my Mobtown tailgate reinforcement skin & Mobtown tailgate cap.

I opted for the "ribbed" skin[for her pleasure ;)] just for that added strength, and reinstalled the OEM skin on top of it. All factory fasteners work perfectly. The skin is 14 gauge steel and nicely powder coated.

It should be noted that since the Mobtown tailgate cap sits much more flush to the tailgate(aka lower), it may affect the seal on some folding tonneau covers. To me, really isn't a big deal. The strength is worth that slight drawback IMO. I'll be adding another weather strip on the Mobtown tailgate cap eventually.

Overall, GREAT products by Mobtown. Very satisfied customer here. Fit was perfect, and installation was probably 15 mins tops start to finish. I got their hardware kit too, but I will be installing all that at a later time. The OEM fasteners will suffice for now, but the Mobtown hardware kit has MUCH better fasteners for sure.

Meh, I'm pretty indifferent to "stealing ideas" or whatever you wanna call it when it comes to aftermarket things. From the customer standpoint, you either make a quality product or you don't....and you either stand by it or you dont. Simple. You can only get so creative with a tailgate skin or tailgate cap. This is just the flavor I prefer. :)

The same could be said for the endless options for plated front/rear bumpers & skid plates. Someone had to copy someone, etc etc etc.

I can't help but disagree with some of this. The exact copy of Pelfreybilt's skid plate by SOS was not acceptable and even more so, BP Fabricating buying a grill from HomerTaco to then copy it and sell in the masses as their own product for profit with not one bit of credit to Craig. Absolutely not ok from any standpoint... but that's just my .02 to each their own

That's fine man! :) ....but I'm not a vendor nor do I really feel in debt to or loyalty to the vendors that "originate" vs the vendors that "copy." I'm looking at the bigger picture as a straight consumer. Everyone has/likes options. Not everyone chooses to participate in the politics. Myself included. I like brands that I like as other people should like brands that they like. I'll be more than happy to spread good word about great vendors, but I'll also not hesitate in posting horrible experiences about vendors who've done me wrongly or outright made a crap product.

Shit look at my truck! ICON uca's, ADS shocks, TOTAL CHAOS lca's, DEFINED SUA, DTF front bumper/cmc, BRUTE FORCE rear bumper....it's the epitome of why I really couldn't care any less about the politics of who copied who---blatant or not. I have friends who have SOS and BP products on their pickups, really won't bother me unless I hear them bitching about the shoddy quality or customer service (which thankfully I have yet to hear about).

I am a consumer, I choose my flavors if the flavors exist. I'm not here to mediate vendor ethics(unless they are royally screwing over their customers which is a whole different can of worms) or show any overbearing loyalty to any one vendor or belittle any other vendor(whether it be expressively or in my head). Yes, blatant copying has existed on here for ages. Yes, I agree it's flat out WRONG. .....but in the end it has little affect on the green stuff coming out of my own wallet lol: the wallet of the consumer. I'm not here to point fingers, I'm here to spend money. If an aftermarket part doesn't work out for me whether it be shitty quality or shitty customer service or BOTH, I'll be the first one to tell everyone my experience with it, and i most certainly have in the past. Call a duck a duck. Honest reviews as a consumer is a public service in itself!

If I could control the BS with ethics and vendors(not just limited to this forum) with the wave of a wand I would, but I can't so I'd rather just NOT participate in the politics and just worry about my own preferences like I have been ever since my first money pit lol.

Supply and demand can bring the best and the worst of people/companies. We all understand this. Choices = consumer power. If a vendor is messing up they'll immediately feel it whether it be by reviews or lack of demand.

That said, (insert vendor name/brand here) FOR LIFE!!!! :D ;)

On another note, do you have a pic for where you mounted all of the ballasts/relays for your headlights? I'm finally getting around to the headlight upgrade project (had the stuff for months) and installed the LED fogs yesterday. I think I have the mounting points figured out for the headlight equipment, but it involves making a couple of brackets and then attaching them to the radiator mount. I'm just curious what you did.

you can attach the ballasts anywhere. I have mine just sitting at the bottom of the headlight area.. all the blower hoses and stuff are on top so nothing is going anywhere. they are pretty resilient.. so shouldnt have any issues. my fog light ballasts are 3M taped and zip tied to the back of my crush bar. they see dirt, water, snow, etc and dont flinch.
