I don't understand it. I work right across the street from the toyota dealership (hyundai) and see so many 16's coming in, sometimes 2-3 a day but not mine and I ordered it nearly three months ago. My order also got pushed back a month because they lost my truck...how does that happen?!

This is how my dealer has been. It took me 6 weeks to even place an order since I really wanted to be sure of fit (6'5"), and so they'd have an AC not a DC, then they were all sunroofs, etc. Every week they'd come, every week they'd sell. Many would show as new inventory and be spoken for before arriving. I wish I would have purchased the first one I tested which was a white / orange Sport with the roof rack.

    Anyway, ordered 12/19.
    $1000 down.
White / orange TRD OR DCSB auto 4x4
NO premium JBL whatever (no sunroof).
Sales guy really sold me on that roof rack too...

I'm told to expect to wait "12-16 weeks." Maybe less since apparently they do many "cycles" or "batches" with the DCSB OR Auto 4x4.

There were several other TRDORSB in MGM that he could have gotten here within a few days... if I could do without having the JBL upgrade. I stereo tested a limited and compared to the P&T and yeah - it's a big difference and totally worth the extra $627. It's a drop in the bucket when your out the door price with tax is already crossing $41K

Or, there was a truck on the ground with everything, except it was white.

My color choices were Blue, MGM, White.
My wife's color choices where: MGM

Rule #1) Happy Wife, Happy Life.
    Rule #2) See rule #1

So MGM! My dealer called with an update - it's been "cemented" - build date of 1/23. Sooner than we expected - he found one on allocation and was able to add the upgrades I wanted. :)

So after waiting 9 weeks I received an email from my dealer stating "good news, Toyota now recognizes your order". What the.... They just now RECOGNIZE my order? Anyways, any feedback on generally how long it takes to build and receive after this milestone?

Depends on what you're getting. They build far more short beds than long beds. Long beds, especially those that require extra wiring for the technology and towing packages, are scheduled for manufacturing far in advance and all on the same day because they affect the timing of the line. I had a 13 week wait from approved to build for a DCLB w/Tech and towing. You may experience a somewhat shorter turnaround, depending on factory options.

Yeah. I ordered my long bed on August 27th. Toyota didn't accept the build until October 20th or somewhere around there.

If they mean Toyota picked it up and is going to build it in the next allocation cycle, you are looking at 1.5 to 2 months
