This is my first post on this website. I don't have a Tacoma yet. I am currently overseas and will be returning soon and its time to trade in my Ford ranger with 160K miles on it.
I am looking at the 2016 TRD OFF ROAD, 4wd, DCSB. Reported sales in my area are around 33K. Toyota is offering 1000$ rebate for military. Thinking of offering the dealership 30K out the door. Does that sound unreasonable ? Thank you for any advice. I live around the Fort Campbell area, so KY/TN dealerships. Oh and they are offering the lifetime powertrain warranty.

So I'm trying to pull the trigger on a new Taco. Asked for a TRD OR 4x4. Dealer calls me up and says they have one coming off the truck. I took off work, get there, and its a 4x2 Sport.....Not too pleased with that.
So we go inside. My only option is to order at this point according the the dealer. (south Louisiana)

I order a TRD Offroad in 4x4 with only the tow package and no other extras. The "Best they can do" is $35,350.00.....seems high to me. Hell, i can build one on the Toyota website and the msrp comes out cheaper than that... Anyone agree, or am I being cheap?

They can dealer trade with any of what they call the gulf states. Texas, Mississippi, the rest of Louisiana and Arkansas. So they are saying there isn't a Tacoma anywhere in these states that you like?

Was kind of my thinking as well. I find it hard to believe that there aren't ANY in the south that they could trade for. I'm reasonably flexible on color. And I imagine the TRD Offroad is a pretty popular option for tacomas.

I am not an owner yet but believe me I've been doing a lot of research ( deployment boredom ) and I've been getting offers for 33k for TRD off road, 4x4. If you go on cars.com and you do a search, the cheapest you'll find is around 32k in NC. Honestly I think you're overpaying, but that's just my opinion.

Right on my friend! Go to a different dealership! I bought my TRD Sport 4X4 Double Cab in my hometown, Pine Bluff Arkansas. They traded one on their lot for this one from a dealership in Conway Arkansas. Here's the sticker price for mine. I paid $35,121 out the door. This was dealer invoice and they didn't charge me the paperwork fee or whatever it is. Dealerships call it different things and they all have a different price for that and in my case, they didn't charge me $129. They still make plenty with dealer holdback. And they got me financed at 1.90% through chase.

I held out for a few days wanting the exact same thing. Towing package and tonneau cover only. They couldn't find one so I did have to settle so to speak if I wanted one. Plus I sold my vette and only had 45 days to use that sale towards something new for sales tax purposes. I did get some options I didn't care for but I don't regret it either. I bought an Extang 2.0 instead and it seems like it is as close to the factory one as possible. And the dealership they traded with had already tinted the windows to match the rear and my dealership didn't charge me for that.

Toyota financing offered 2.15% and the sales and finance manager took it upon themselves not to settle and worked to get me cheaper financing. They can "auction" your loan based on your credit score to different banks and such. If the different creditors like what they see, they make a financing offer to get your business. Very satisfied with the dealership I used. Here's a shout out to them. Trotter Toyota in Pine Bluff, AR. As long as I'm in the market for a Toyota, they'll get my business.

Not going to happen. Even with hold back and incentives, they will lose money at 30k

I would not return to a dealer who shows you a sport after they tell you they have an Off Road. Maybe you don't have other dealers.

I assume you buying a short bed with just tow package? We need more info

That's good if you paid tax and all for only 35800 out the door. Are you in Alabama?

I have a DCSB BBP TRD sport w/ premium tech package on order here in NH with a build date of Jan 11. My dealer is telling me that I can't get JBL added to it, says that toyota isn't making the Sport in BBP with JBL. Does that sound right?

On the bright side he thinks he might be able to get the factory tonneau cover removed since I've heard bad things about it on here. I'm paying invoice for my truck which is sweet!

Call other regions. They probably make that color and package combo for some part of the country.
