back story, hit a deer, redoing the front end, fenders and added a plate bumper.
my truck, is a 2013 DCLB sport.. everything was color matched from the factory...
    my replacement parts list....
    Mcneil fiberglass fenders
    TRD pro headlights
and a Demello Baja plate bumper...
    here is the dilemma
I want to color match the Bumper, but my wife thinks it looks more Bad A$$ with a black bumper..

Since I have to paint the whole front end anyway
    Color Match or Black....

Black bumper. Ps I love those fenders. Makes me want to sell my glassworks fenders and get those.

I left my ARB black but I always thought it would have looked cool color matched

@Hennessy Very nice truck. Deer nailed intentionally for front bumper??

I would go with colour matched Line X on the bumper. Especially with the TRD Sport where everything else is colour matched. I think a red bumper over black would make the difference in appearances between a weekend warrior who added a bumper and a professionally built look you'd expect from a vendor company ride if that makes sense.

Don't color match it, or Line-X it. Rustoleum Bed liner spray paint is seriously the best option.

Color match. Low level Tacos have black bumpers. A trd has matching red so make it red.

Think maybe you are confused. TRD Sports with nonfunctional decorative skewps are color matched. Compared to TRD OR or any Taco with heavy duty offroad aftermarket parts the Sports ars low level. You are welcome. ;)

Color match it! I've always planned on color matching a plate bumper to my impulse red, makes it look way cleaner.

If the bumper is mostly for lookin at and protection from pedestrians and shopping carts color match it. A body shop will have to correct any damage. If the bumper is for protection from deer, trees, brush, and rocks go with a satin black so you can touch it up yourself.

Just went through EBAY, looking at all the trucks. All the TRD's Sport, and Off Road have colored bumpers. The only trucks with the flat black plastic bumpers are the base levels.

Guess that's true, the silly plastic abomination covering the front of both is matched. Sport also matches the grill surround and rear bumper.

I was not saying that a person who goes and puts a black metal plate bumper has a low end truck. While they are regular sites on here, in real life I have only seen a few aftermarket bumpers in real life, everything else is stock. So when I see a truck with a flat black bumper, first thing in my mind is that it is a base level truck. OP asked opinions on flat black or color matched red, I gave my opinion.

I personally hate chrome, and have removed every bit off of my truck. That is one reason I like the Sport better than Off Road to get the color matched rear bumper and grill. I also wanted a DCLB, and since i don't plan on any serious offroading, I can give up a locker, and the turning radius.

I vote for black Line-X or bed liner as well.

It's a bumper. By definition it's going to bump into things. Make the finish as tough as possible.
