Warning, somewhat off topic to those who are here.
That LDW does a good job of imitating a drunk driver on wide lanes! LOL! It will keep you in the lane, but now straight and narrow. It will tug at the wheel to change direction, but you can over ride it. Not real crazy about that feature. I dont use it that much as it cuts off after 15 seconds and you have to guide it or run off the road, all this stuff is a work in progress and the drivers have to learn how to do it, and I supspect most will not. The Honda LDW is better than the one on a Subaru Legacy, that model was all over the road, much worse that a CRV. Actually, believe it or not, I mainly got the touring model for the electric tailgate, which me and wife love. And also, the keyless entry where you never have to take the key out of your pocket. That, too is one thing, I forgot to mention about the equipped Tacos, that is a great feature, my 14 dont have it, my friends 16 model did not come with it and he said he did not like it anyway. I will not get another vehicle without it. The blind spot monitor is good, but wish it covered both sides, dont know why it is just the one side. All cares will eventually get all that, Honda was just first at it I think. I would like to see a front grille camera to tell you have close you are to the curb or pole. I actually bought a camera to put on front of my TACO, but never got around to putting it on and thinking of trading, I put it off for now. At 72, judging distances is not as good for me, especially with the TACO, I usually end up 3 feet from a pole in the front, which is good rather than bumping it. Hate to say it, but even with the backup cam on my TACO, I managed to barely bump a post backing into a parking spot ant that little bump, put a small dent in the bumper, dang it! Getting old is not any fun! If you are young, you can laugh at us old folks, but if you survive, you will take our place one day even if you dont believe it! It happens.

me personally I like hearing the goods and the bads of REAL PEOPLE. you know reading a car review online from an "expert" is not really all that its cut out to be. now when a real potential buyer whos about to drop 35k for a truck gives his criteria, that I can take seriously. and although we don't all agree on what we like and don't like we shouldn't be thread bashing just cause he doesn't agree with you.
the negative output people give on the truck is what is one day gonna change this truck for the better.

That is why they make all of them. I remember the first time I saw a Honda Element, i thought BUTT UGLY. Then after a year or so they looked better and better and turned out to be a really popular versatile vehicle, and are good seller now that they dont make them. Sales of new ones fell off so Honda quit making them, and now people want them and have to go Used, to get one. Still a great vehicle. Kinda a cult vehicle as they have Element meets with them. My son has one, daughter has two and her Bro in law has one. They dont give much trouble either. Honda needs a new model, but doubt it since they have the FIT, HRV, and CRV.

And Yet.........Toyota will sell everyone they make. Just not to the OP and other detractors. Maybe eventually some people won't have to wait six to eight weeks for one....

Your point? Same can be said for the gm twins. They will sell everyone and often people have extended wait times to purchase....

welcome surprises for me on my new 2016 sport 4x4: the amazing tight turning radius!! and the awesome blue dash lights at night...sweet. Also, the power windows have "one up"/"one down" features for both passenger and driver...My 2013 SR5 didn't have that.

There are a lot of things this truck has that I like. Being the first truck I have personally owned and not just driven via company or military, it's all new to me. I think the interior is fine, coming from a 2013 Corvette, I would say it's an upgrade for me. Handling is nice, fuel economy I can care less about but it's still nice to get 22mpg since I drive mostly highway. Electronics are super responsive unlike my wife's VW Passat and even the Corvette was a bit sluggish in that area.

Shifting in the v6 auto is fine to me, no hood rattle like others have mentioned and nothing else so far and I'm about 700 miles in. The blue interior at night does indeed look great and the options on the center cluster are numerous and move fluidly. I think the one thing they could have done better is Xenon/HID headlights for the Limited since, well you know, it's 40k. Luckily I paid invoice and can upgrade that with what I saved. The other thing I think that could be improved is having a handle to climb in on the driver's side as others have mentioned.

Other than that, the engine is acceptable but more would have been better in that department and the ride is smooth and quiet. For a first truck, I think I nailed it out of the ballpark and couldn't be happier.

I'd like to see cooled seats, twin turbos added to the direct injection, a bigger cab, more hauling and towing capacity, factory HID's, power converter, subwoofer, puddle lights, 2 usb outlets, power rear sliding window, reverse sensors with the camera, and memory 8 way seats...

But then it would be the same price as my f150 (50k)

Not sure why everyone is on here crying about everything they don't like about the new Tacoma. Everyone says I wish the truck had this and I wish it had that! Well are you ok with paying 40-45k for a midsized truck? How about this: if you don't like it don't buy one and keep your opinion to yourself. Opinions are like a55holes. We all have them.

If I had spent that much money and was that unhappy about it I'd feel like a fool.

Gm only sells half of what they do because they give almost everyone employee pricing. I work for auto group that owns almost every manufacture. Guess what is the only manufacture all employees can get discounts under invoice and not working in that particular dealership? You guessed it GM. Most of the other manufactures won't even give "employee plans" unless you actually work for them. Ford had a dealer plan that is a little better than invoice but nothing touches Gm's plans.

There's a reason why they needed bailed out and why they still are hurting

No, because only a fool would actually buy something they hate so much

I agree. I came from a $55,000 Dodge Ram 1500 that had every option imaginable. You can't expect the same with these Tacomas, but I will say it is a great truck. I have 1500 miles on my 16 Sport MT and I have no complaints so far.

    I came from a 2015 Ram 3500 warranty queen . If you bought a 16 . If you drove it . You wouldn't like it either .
