Painting my rear bumper tomorrow.

Just thought you all should know.

 

Nah. I'm going to pretend 2007 was the only year the 2.7L was offered in TRD Sport trim.

 

what you doing to paint it? materials and such..

 

Materials:

Paint.

And such:

Beer.




But seriously, folks...I'm gonna scuff up the chrome and apply some adhesion promoter and the give it a coat or two of white and a coat of clear. I'm also going to cross my fingers.

That's what I did and it's holding up pretty well. Two years and no problems, only difference is I sprayed mine black.

 

My experience is that the beer will water down the paint. I'd save it for drinkin'.

 

Remember the more beer you drink, the better the bumper will look. After you're done with it, don't be surprised if someone else loved it more than you did that they swapped it out overnight. I'd hate for you see to a F* up bumper in the am.

looks really good. How's the color match in person?

 

It's almost unnoticeable. The only reason it looks like it doesn't quite match is because the truck is dirty as hell. I'll try to get it cleaned soon

thats what i wana know how did you take the chrome out ? what grid sand paper did you use ?
