    Waiting on machinist to tell me how much of the deck is removed, so that I can order the proper thickness head gaskets. I was told by this week, that they should be finished with the short block assembly.

    Which leaves me to finish with the heads.

    I have Calvert Racing Caltracs. Using primarily XR rear suspension components. They work incredibly well.

    When all said and done, Goldylocks should make a number difference of 50 to 75, from HP to TQ. If history repeats itself with the past setups. Cams and valves aren't changed. Just better springs and retainers for this engine.

    The difference on the stroker could be the similar, or much different. Due to increased stroke, larger valves, and aggressive cam profiles.

    You think the small oil pan would be an issue in the 400-500HP range on an 6.2L LS? I don't know what you are pushing since you have that twin turbo setup. I would say I won't be racing it, but when I hit the dunes for a weekend I spend a lot of time with my foot to the floor; though maybe that would be a bit different with more than twice the HP.

    Capacity is the issue. Preventing cavitation from a lack of capacity. Among other factors.

    Then you have to worry about liquifying the oil. Getting it too hot and breaking it down to where it will not longer provide the hydrodynamic barrier layer. Not enough capacity, + heavy usage, will get that oil over 300° quickly. Without means to cool the oil.

    Is it possible to increase overall oil capacity by running a large radiator as an oil cooler? Would also have the added benefit of cooling the oil.

    it would help but i would reccomend a oil tank that is pressurized. i forget the proper name of it. but that would help. also i have a oil pan already made for a ls to fit with the toyota front diff if your interested in it. comes with oil filter relocation

    I may be interested if you don't find a buyer between now and when I get an LS. I'm planning on tearing into my 1GR this next week to see what the damage is before I start buying stuff.

    Yes, but still doesn't resolve a potential shallow oil pick-up area. I.E. similar XRunner shallow pan/spun rod bearings. Similar to the tC as well.

    I see. So is it possible to mount the engine a little higher in the engine bay to make more room for a larger oil pan? Or is that just going to result in a whole lot of cutting into the cab to fit the trans and tcase?...

    The more common solution is dry sump. Gonna cost you though as mentioned before.

    I recall reading something on the URD site that said it was possible. Also with gearing more suitable to the application.
