Thanks, I should have searched, oops. Seems ridiculous that it would give you that message every time even though it's ok, but the manual says get it in to the dealer ASAP. Hm.

In a nutshell...hood adhesive coming loose, driver window noise, various driveline vibes (probably due to lift so not worried), rattle in sunroof and dash on passenger side. All non-major issues in my book so I'm happy so far. Will have issues addressed at the 5k service in a couple weeks.

I have a DCSB OR 4x4 and have had a lot of creaking noises coming from the rear passenger side. As simple as my wife getting in and out of the car and it creaks really loudly, over any bumbs, even stopping. Took it in today for them to look at it and to go ahead and change the oil - at 3500 miles - the rear passenger leaf spring needs to be replaced but Toyota wants to come look at it first.

With the holidays all he said was sometime in Jan, he would call me to setup a time. He had ordered the leaf spring but can't touch it until they look at it. Gave it back though. Said it's fine to drive just sounds annoying.

My daytime backlighting also went out. I wonder what remedy is.

Dealer called today and scheduled me for Jan. 7th to drop it off. I'm in Texas and Toyota is flying some engineers in from California from what they tell me. Will updated when I have more info.

Update #3 So the dealership has been recommended by the factory to remove the driveline and simply pull the yolk off the front of the differential carrier to install the seal. According to experts in order to set the pre-load on the pinion bearing the carrier and ring gear need to be removed which of course requires removal of both rear axles and completely disasssembling the 3rd member (diff). So it sounds like they plan to shortcut the process and not do it right, which ultimately may cause future problems with the differential. I can't believe that Toyota would do such a crappy job on a brand new vehicle.

Has anyone had an issue with the truck taking a few seconds (After shifting in to Drive) for it to actually grab? When I start the truck when it hasn't been running for a few hours (about 33% of the time) it takes 2-3 seconds (after shifting in to Drive) for it to grab. This can be frustrating, because I apply the gas after shifting in to Drive, and it will jump/lunge forward when it actually grabs if it hasn't. Not sure if I should take it to the dealer or just wait 2-3 seconds after shifting in to drive each time. I guarantee if I bring it to the dealer it won't do it for them. It has to be the first time it's started, and it only does it about 1 in 3 times.

Got the loud howling noise at around 59MPH until Inlet off gas. I am pretty sure that is from the rear Dif. I also have a buzz coming from the left side of the windshield in high cross winds. Also have the adhesive coming loose under the hood that makes the hood vibrate at highway speeds. I have around 3,000 miles and plan to get it checked at 5,000 mile service. Otherwise happy with the truck. Paid for all the extended warranties so I am not worried.

I'm sure there are thousands of 2016 owners who have had NO problems. Nobody calls the "How's my driving" 800 number to report good driving behavior.

Also, we here on TW are probably a tiny fraction of total owners.

1768 miles, no problems. Ready for the aftermarket to offer a few things :annoyed:, other than that,.

Mine only does this when shifting from R to D. If I'm parked and shift straight to D it grabs right away. However backing up, then shifting to R it takes a second or two to grab and go.

I've been pretty disappointed with the highway mileage as well. I average around 16 on the highway, which is pretty bad if you ask me. It'll use 6th gear, but it definitely likes to shift more than necessary when driving. I love the truck and will definitely put up with the poor mileage, but hopefully they can tweak something to help out a bit. I'll start with a new air filter though.
