You have a valid point. Even for the hard core off-roader how often would anyone be more than 50 miles from a gas station? As I said expedition type stuff is the only reason I could see for a large extra supply of gas.

 

Yep made er home. 20 hours this go around with some crappy weather at the end.

The resonator I just added really quieted it down. Might look at just adding a second flow thru muffler or what I added from vibrant.

 

What I'm saying is in the U.S. it's hard to be more then 100miles from gas and not plan ahead to really run out. Unless you're headed to Australia Africa or northern Canada or the artic. I don't see the point.

We do trips that last 9 days of almost all offroad and living out of the trucks. Done it for 4 years now. No one has ever come close to running out of gas.

There just isn't a market for it.

The only reason I did the tank was because at the time I was working a job where I was filling up every day to every other day and I was tired of spending that much time doing it. Also was tentively planning a trip down and back up the baja peninsula and heard fuel stops were few and far between. But I guess that would fall under expedition rig and not US driving.

We should do baja.

Just burned out all the glass haha lasted less then a year. Pretty sure his is a vibrant too. Worked great before. But truck is just getting louder again. Course he's deaf so doesn't bother him anyways haha

I think you missed Monte's point. Intentionally (to add a little BenDrama) or not. Adding fuel from a spare 5'er does not constitute 'coming close to running out'. We have all done that on occasion.

 

Yea I've done it twice. But it was more than enough to get me to a station. Plus if everyone in the group carries a 5er. You'll be good
