now the Demello Baja is such a clean looking bumper that I think color match would look good, since the insurance is paying for paint.... its cheaper to go back to a black finish, then regret not at least seeing what it would look like red...
my house is divided and it looks like popular opinion is split also...
till this truck is paid off I am still trying to keep it nice, and "mall crawler" appearance is fine, my wife wants me to get an old Scout or landcruser for off-roading..[IMG]

If you end up color matching the bumper, you might as well color match the grille too. (The chrome part) :)

oh I have my Sport grill, that is color matched, the chrome one is the one I have for sale, I just used it to fit the fenders and headlights, since I did not want to damage my color matched one.
so if you know anyone that needs an extra grill for cheap... I have one...

I'd say black. If everything is color matched I think it looks too monochrome, like those hot rods that were in style in the 80s where guys would paint all the awesome chrome bumpers and grilles body color. A vehicle needs some contrast. A black bumper will tie in well with your side steps, tires and bed rail caps.

I vote for color match. Love that Demello bumper. Definitely the coolest looking steel bumper IMO.

Personally, I don't prefer color matched baja style bumpers but the Demello is a bit of a different design. If you color match and you off road you will curse the first scratches. I would consider if you can live with off road paint damage. If not, I would Line X the bumper. Line X is expensive but I have dragged my Line X'd sliders over some good rocks and not seen any real damage to the coating.

Pretty much stock with some crap welded to it.
black is so much easier to touch up if you smash it on a rock.

Color matched tube/plate bumpers look good, but they scream 'poser' and/or 'mall crawler' to me. The purpose of them is the get beat up, not have pretty paint on them.

I have to give a shout out to Demello, holy crap, I started unpacking it yesterday, I might finish unpacking it by tonight.... it was incased in plastic wrap and cardboard and strapped to a pallet... A+ packing job.. but I need a pull-tab or something to get through all of it... burnt through one utility knife...

From what I see I think you really want to color match so just do it.
not necessarily, but you're entitled to your own opinion. Some people have them for that extra insurance in case of accidents, some people like a clean flush look, and some people are just OCD like that.

    Black would be sick, IMO.

If insurance is paying for it, color match. Without a doubt. I have a Pyrite Mica with black bumpers because painting them was too expensive. I love the look of color-matches plate bumpers as it more seamlessly blends OEM and aftermarket upgrades.

As stated before it's easier to color match on insurance companies dime and easy (and therefore less expensive) to go with a black that doesn't have to match anything later if you change your mind.

Yes. If someone could do a side by side comparison of color matched vs. black that would be nice to see.

Those headlights need to be blacked out too.
