Should I paint my wheels gunmetal, or leave them chrome?

painted the spare. Thoughts?? Badges would be blacked out if I went gunmetal btw.
Also, that is only one coat of glossy clear coat. I would probably apply 2-3

 

I like the stocks.

 

Yeah, everyone says gunmetal, but I'm not completely convinced. You are picturing it as if I had painted the stock wheels gunmetal right?

 

That color looks good with the color of the truck.

 

Tough comparison - your spare has no gaps, and your real wheel does.

After seeing that, it looks funny; however, that could be b/c it's a spare vs your real wheel - two different designs.

 

Sorry but no. I like the original stock wheels. No paint no nothing.

 

ehh.. since I can't decide, I think I'm going to stick stock and save myself the money/time

Of the two choices you gave us....go gunmetal.

I agree with others who have mentioned bronze. Check out the Level 8 MK6 wheels in bronze. Not expensive, good quality wheel. You could re-coup a lot of their cost by selling your stockers.

I also agree with bronze. But I also think that bronze only looks good on a lifted truck, with bigger tires. The wheels themselves draw too much attention, without a lift\nice tires to draw some of it away.

I feel the wheels should compliment the truck, not draw all eyes to it. you know?

Also, if I'm going to buy new wheels, I'm going to save up for Beadlocks in bronze. Those are freakin sweet

 

How much you lifted? Your truck is the look I am going for but, of course, SWFTMFW.

 

Yup, if I went gunmetal, I would definitely black out badges. They are chrome now to match the chrome wheels

 

In all seriousness, just wait a while. Once the wheels are painted the decision's been made. They will be worth more left in the factory state if you decide to sell them. If you want to stick with factory wheels, buy a second set used. Check the marketplace forum, or Craigs list. you could get a second set pretty cheap if your willing to do some searching. That way you could have second set to paint/powdercoat if that's what you end up wanting.

 

All I have are Bilsteins 5100 RHA set at .85 in the front. Some Spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacers for a wider stance, and the 265/70/17 tires.

 

Those stock wheels are polished aluminum not chrome I have the same ones and had them powder coated black
