Woah! 298 with no down payment? How so? I'm new to the car buying world. Beautiful truck!! How does the 4cyl do with the double cab?
That front grill is so nice
    Nice truck!

Show me a manual I4 and an manual V6 within $1500. Don't believe that BS about the the fuel economy. I own the truck the OP is looking to buy and I LOVE it! I consistently get 24 mpg. The V6 is too complicated. The 4 cyl is a long stroke iron block and was designed as a truck engine not a car engine, yet is very smooth. What is an automotive industry/journal? You don't need a top of the line blender to make margaritas.

If it gets the job done I am all for it :) I can't wait. Just a little more saving and then I will act. The v6 and standard was like 6k more the way I wanted it and I can't get myself together to spend that much. The 4cyl it is. 24mpg? That's awesome!

It helps when you have been dealing with the same dealership for the last 6 years.

Had two 4 cyl Tacomas previously and loved them. A manual tranny is a must for a 4 cyl tho. And no shit, that motor is bulletproof. Taken care of it'll last forever. A great choice OP.

Dealer told me the nickname for the Tacoma is, "Forever Truck." I feel more confident in that name than with whatever they call the colorado I traded in.

I really like my 4cyl with the manual...it may be just me, but the engine has really opened up power wise since the 2500 mile mark.

No offense, boys, but I just don't buy it.

Awesome! No hurry is good, but what do you mean by your warranty comment??

... and from passing slow poke grannies.

Exactly. Pick the 6 for the extra $1500 and save $ in the long run on fuel.

Super! Try not to buy too much unsprung weight. Get little ones.

Yes you can. And pay for a lot of grief if you push it too hard (or as hard as a v6).

Look up 4 cylinder Taco reviews on line in reputable automotive journals/magazines. They all ditz the 4 banger.

That's right. 2 more cylinders. Very complicated.

    What job is that? Shopping?

Not really. It doesn't make sense to buy part of a truck, then try to justify with half truths why you bought part of the truck.

... and why would I be jealous?

Enjoy your 4 bangers, guys. If it's what you want, have a good time. I mean that.

I was just teasing Marc. The 2005-2015 4.0s are good but the new 3.5L V6 forget that. People are having way to many issues with them especially the transmissions and all kind of other stuff. I'd rather have nothing to do with that!

Hey, no problem. I hear ya. The new V6 is a car engine. I would simply stay away from a 3rd gen., 4cyl or V6. If you compare the prices to CAD, we are paying almost 20% cheaper than USD, but they are not selling that well up here in Canada.

My 2016 4 cylinder is the exact same as my 2013 4 cylinder! They didn't change nothing about the 4 cylinder!

taczilla, has that truck ever been offroad? How do you keep it from getting scratched up? Looks like you may be one of the 5% that did not buy too much truck. I passed a little old lady the other day with a short passing zone. I did have to down shift...big woop. If a truck can't do everything without going past 1/4 throttle it is inadequate? This makes ZERO sense.
