hard to restart after stall

i stalled my manual trans truck twice in the last month(going into first gear at a stop light) both times it was difficult to restart. i had to crank it three times before it would turn over. both times it was while the truck was not yet warmed up ( couple of mins. after originally starting it), also both times in was raining. not sure if these two conditions are just a coincidence or not. anyone know what this could be? 7 month old truck. well maintained. chris4x4? you always know the answer to this kind of stuff. lol. i am currently working 7 days a week 12 hrs a day on night shift so im not sure when i will be back on to review any feedback. thans guys.

 

Mine did the same thing when I stalled it. Just take a second while turni g the truck off wait then clutch In and start it seems if you don't hurry up and do it just take a few more seconds it will fire up quicker.

 

well when you stall you have a lot of unburned fuel and when its cold it tries to add more fuel, compounding the rich fuel condition. It will make the truck much harder to start. nothing abnormal there. The plugs were just wet.

 

also after you stall your fuel pump and injectors continue to pump for a split second until the truck ecu figured out you stalled. the difference when you turn the key off is the electricity is cut to pump and injectors. when you stall they are still running

 

But that would be the first piston that tries to fire on restart so you have to crank to the next cylinder. People with new vehicles tend to panic when it doesnt fire on the first cylinder up. Hard starting problems arent what they used to be. Now if you have to hold the key for more than 2 seconds OMG theres something wrong with my truck. Half the public wouldnt know what to do if they had to pump the pedal to get the accelerator pump going and god forbid if it stalled after starting.
