Big publicly traded company working as a mechanic on big o machines...if they ain't broke it's nothing all day (I work 4 days a week). I average less than 8 hours a month overtime...unlike some of the OT whores I work with... :p Kinda like a fireman...here just in case.

Steam/Valve is uber fucked up right now. Security is wide open. People are randomly getting access to random OTHER peoples account info....including CC info and the ability to click-buy with other peoples Steam Wallets!

Get the word out please, to your respective circles. I'm starting to see it on Twatter but lots of folks need to know about this NOW if not sooner.

I do the same thing man...I'd hate to have family sitting at home and be stuck at work. And I think I'd be down with the 24 hour day. How many days a month are you on?

    Thanks for the heads up!!

I work 9 shifts a month. 24 on, 48 off. Every third week (7th shift) I get off making 5 days off every 3 weeks on top of the normal days off

I volunteered this year for the Holidays as my alternate has a family with a new grandchild. I have no immediate family other than a sibling and parents. I'd rather have the money and let others enjoy the holiday season in hopes that karma will reciprocate when I do finally settle down.

I'll at least eat good tonight. I know the cook, looks to be lobster tail, king crab legs, and bacon wrapped fillet mignon.

    Basically the same situation here...

But, I'm jelly of your grub man. We were fed ham, green beans, corn, mashed tatters and some sweet stuff...it pretty much tasted like card board.

I could speak ill of large oil corporations. But at least they take care of their employees and contractors on the holidays. Plus it helps I know the cook, who is in the minority because he actually gives a shit about the food he serves. I'm working a new construction site, they sent all the main contractors home (which is a 2.5 hour flight away) for Xmas. It just stands that communications is too important when you're in the middle of nowhere, so my small crew gets to stay.

Had the chance to be off today but chose to work. Kicked out by ex gf a couple weeks ago so I've been working a lot of OT lately hahaha. Today was super easy, can't complain with the double time and a half holiday pay. Now off to a family dinner.

    Heh

Uhm...let's see, what can I say without my boss, their bosses, or the FDIC from gettin' all pissy and pullin' my clearance?

    OK. Got it.

There's a large lot .....grouping....of commercial debt being sold by a company we do contracting work for. We got the last bits of data, information on sale numbers and lien specifics, etc on Wednesday early afternoon. By dinnertime, we had the whole thing uploaded into our EC2 app *redacted so I don't lose my job* and it'll be churning away till....Monday or Tuesday of next week crunching all the numbers, putting everything into place, indexing and categorizing, etc

Then, a day or so to put together all the data into report for in various formats for the client(s) to have access to directly and securely, to begin the bidding process. The final sale date (9-10 figure range) will be mid January.

And it seemed to be a slow day on TW too. Being board leads me to trouble...usually pissing of a TW member or co-worker. :)
