lifting the seats in a 2016 tacoma

I going to buy a tacoma but needto lift the seats. i am 5'3 and need to sit higher. had a 2012 tacoma and raised them. How come toyota does not put i hight adjustment seats my 2012 nissan does?

 

Amen. Inam plenty tall.but need adjustable seats height and up back and seat angle to get comfortable. These seats I cant ride.in.more than an hour. Im.hoping someone gives us way to make better. Id.pay to put full 10way electric seats in it and softer not as hard seats but dont think that is realistic. Really only complaint I have with the tacoma.

 

My wife is 5 foot 2 and she can drive my 14 Tacoma fine.
Although I'm 5 10 and would like them slightly higher. Soooo idk.

 

My wife doesn't drive my truck, but recently got herself a butt pad for her seat at Costco. I tried it out one day just to see how much more height it would give me. I think ot would take some getting used to because I felt it put me too high, but like I said, could probably get used to it. Anyhow, it is a cheap alternative to raising the seat or even doing much to it at all, and you increase the amount of cushion for the pushin.

 

Unfortunately, due to the angle at which the seats bolt into the floor.... you cannot just lift them and add spacers. You would never get the bolt in again.

I'm sure something can be done, but it won't be a 15 minute project.

 

More people need to know about this kit. I put it in a little over a year ago in my 06'. Worked awesome! I'm not sure if it'll work in the 16' but I can only imagine if a lot of these less major components have been reused. Maybe someone has an answer on this? Buy the kit here-

Good idea and exactly what I was thinking. However, this will only work for the rear bolts on the 2016 seat an not the front. The front are at an angle as I mentioned in my post just above.

 

If you have ever lifted the front only, you will feel like your butt is about to slide off of the front of the seat. You really want to lift both.

 

You are probably right if lifting a couple inches.

I think the fronts can be lifted as well. My bolts went straight into the floor if I remember correctly when installing my CoverKing Seat covers.

 

Obviously the Toyota engineers need some brain surgery.... putting seats in there without the height adjustment.

 

I'm about your size and think it's fine. Once you get in there and drive for a little bit, you may agree as well. With the length of the hood and the fact that it barely tapers down (if at all), 1-2" of seat adjustment isn't going to help you see much more out front. My opinion anyway.

 

anybody attempted this in a 16' yet? Im curious to know I would like to sit about an inch higher.

 

I can deal with no electronic seat adjustment but a manual height adjustment to lower or raise my seat would be cost effective and much appreciated

 

I'm 6ft 8in tall with my shoes on and don't need no stinkin' seat height adjustment!!!

 

yea i have a nissan fronrer and has a manual hight adjustment dont no y toyota cant do it

 

the seat belt locking catch is already buried down low between the center consul and seat lifting the seat would make it even harder to latch the seat belt. i mean it is a pain where it is now...that latching piece needs to be about 4 inches longer.

I don't have that specific kit but just bought longer bolts and some nylon washers and steel inserts and put them in my '16. Lifted the rear probably an inch and half to 2 inches and its much better for me.
