This was way behind Fireman's Hill in Sycamore. FR160 takes you to Highway 87.

Nice. Glad you liked it. Me and the gf are probably going out Monday evening.. End it with some fireworks at the flats.. have a few left from independence day and had to work new years eve. Might as well light them off for fun. Heh.

Had some of my own fun @0uTkAsT
Down at the quarry, and the Flats doing some fireworks, then some mudding. Got pretty mucky there. Think this is my best mud run yet, heh. Sad though that I ended up not being able to make it up the mountain pass by the quarry. Too light in the rear end she is, even with the locker. Probly shoulda aired down lower than 20. But it was worse having that hill climb a bit wet and slippery. Had to back down. Pretty lame as it's really not that bad up there:( Oh well, had a blast at the Flats, and took lots more cool poser pictures. Really like that sand pit/wall for good photos. Makes a good backdrop I thought...

Ha, yeah, this was the worst yet. Being that it rained throughout the next couple days so it pooled up and was like clay. Had to scrape it out of the bed liner channels it was so mucky. Ugh. Lmao. Need to invest in a power washer.. I shoulda pulled up to that new car wash just to see their faces as they told me to gtfo! That woulda been great:D They're pretty picky on even the slightest mud.

Sorry there are no pictures, I didn’t have a camera with me, but thought I’d give an abbreviated trail report:

Went to Bulldog Canyon this morning; entering at AA Pit and exiting at Usery Pass took about 3 hours.

FR3512 was muddy and rutted in spots, but no surprises. There are some optional climbs I’d like to try, but I’ll wait until they dry out (they’re steep).

FR1356 and FR10 were both very muddy. In several spots it felt like driving on grease, and I was sliding into ruts I didn’t want to be in. On FR10 I lost traction twice halfway up the steep rutted climb, and had to use ATRAC. Both the IFS and mid-skid took hits on these two sections. The mid-skid took a very solid hit on FR1356 when my muddy front left tire slid off the side of a rock. The IFS took a hit on FR10 when I slid off another rock. Except for a few scrapes, and messing up my rattle can paint job, there was no damage. At least I know my aluminum skids can take some abuse.

FR3554 was the only section with no mud…just lots of sand. I put it in 2wd, turned off the traction control, and just had fun. I tried several times to get stuck, so I could see if Auto LSD would get me out in 2wd, but the sand was too wet and compacted. I’ll have to try again when it’s dry.

There was a lot of traffic; a few Jeeps, but mostly ATVs and dirt bikes. I had to pull over several times and wait for a line of ATVs, or bikes to pass.

There should be some good technical sections, with deep ruts, when it dries out. If you like driving in mud, now is a good time.

Alpine, AZ near springerville...I live in Tucson (east side) but my parents have a cabin up there. Always fun venturing off the beaten path and relaxing in the mountains!

Yes! See I think I'd enjoy this more. I will eventually have my rig set up for camping. Venture up north from the valley and camp out. Maybe out of state occasionally. Need a lot done before I am prepared, maintenance wise. And gear wise. Wanna get a bed rack and rtt with all the associated gear. Went to blythe California to the wileys well trail recently. But still desert and not much to see. Went for the geode beds but couldn't find them. Woulda been nice to camp out for at least a night because it was like a 6 hr round trip just to and fro.

The worst part was cleaning the mud off when I got home, but it was worth it. Have fun if you go!

It was a chilly night but we managed. Three of us trekked to Sycamore and looped towards Four peaks and ended up camping lake side at Saguaro lake.IMG_3233[1].jpg IMG_3243[1].jpg IMG_3249[1].jpg IMG_3258[1].jpg

That section is pretty wild. I was on my bike but my buddy romped through that shizz. The creek is flowing good, meaning I was soaked crossing water up to my engine

I bet with all the rain that section was probably a good amount of water.

I wonder how different that section was from when you went. It was dry until that wash leveled out towards the bottom. I crossed about 4 sections of creek on the dirt bike before getting to the highway. I was soaked so I drove home barefoot, in my undies, heater blasting
