Getting a 2016 but would like to see improvements.

Owned a stanza, Nissan pick up (pre Frontier) and Infiniti I30. All very good vehicles.

 

There are a lot of reasons why vehicles have these things.....because there are people who want them. Toyota seems to be very lacking in offering certain packages & configurations that you CAN get on other trucks.

In my 30+ years of driving, I've NEVER had power seats in any vehicle. My husbands had them on his last 3 vehicles and they're soooooo nice to adjust and fine-tune your seating position.

I absolutely loved the 2016's until I heard you can't get this...can't get that...can't buy this option...don't offer this with that....yadda yadda yadda. C'mon Toyota. Get with the program. If they offered everything that I'm looking for, there'd be no question (Inferno please!) Only time will tell whether I end up in a new Tacoma by next spring or not.

 

Ah, and therein lies the rub.

 

It's not the time it takes, it's the ability to get it dialed in. My car has 14 way adjustable seats. Everything from side bolsters in or out to lumbar in or out or up or down. It's so comfortable, especially on long drives.

Although, if your spouse ever drives, the time it saves to just hit the preset is a nice convenience, or in the case of the car, if she unlocks it with her key, the seat automatically goes to her position and the same for mine.

 

...and you know you're old when you (me!) have to look up in the 'urban dictionary' to understand what 'the rub' meant. OMG.....LOL

 

If there was an Internet 100 years ago it would be like, but it's so nice not to have to turn that crank to get the engine started.

Screw that man. Hand turning the crank to get the car started is the only way to go. I actually have all my cars converted to the hand crank. Sure you break a thumb every now and then with the kickback but it's real driving.

 

Yeah, them awesome 4-way Tacoma seat adjustments. C'mon man, they're crap.

 

The Honda Ridgeline is a truck? I thought it was an El Camino wanna be also. Its Soft looking and has no 4x4 optiion just like an El Camino

 

Alright I'm new here but I'm saying it anyway. Don't be comparing no Honda Ridgeline to a Toyota Tacoma. They are two completely different beast. If you want street manners and comfort go with the Honda or even a Subaru. If you want off road capability you'd better go with the Tacoma. Whomever suggested buying a Nissan needs a swift quick kick in the nads. Toyota--->>>resale, resale, resale!

 

The OP was comparing Ridgeline to Tacoma. Go kick him in the nuts

 

Sort of like comparing the Tacoma to a Jeep Rubicon. There both vehicles with several common characteristics but not designed for the same use.

 

You are looking for something to tide you over for 2 years till you make a longer term decision? Keep your current Honda till then. It's already 8 years old. You will lose less over the next two years in the Honda than a new Tacoma. Then you can make your decision with them side by side knowing what the Honda will be.

 

I feel your pain but it all comes down to money.
It's not efficient for them to do that. And let's face it they don't have to they are having no problems selling these trucks.

They might. Their golden goose is reliability. Tacomas have had less to offer for some years now, and it still outsells everything else. Outsold the Colorado on their redesign year with a 10 year old design. As long as they continue to be reliable they will own the midsize market.

 

Very true. The Colorado still needs to prove itself.
Im interested to see what happens with the ranger and I'm sure Nissan is going to update the frontier soon.

You sure about that? The way trucks are going they are luxury cars and I'm fine with that as long as they can do the truck stuff.

I sure would like to see power seats added to the Tacoma, the only thing I miss from my Silverado.
