I'm with ya there too, earlier I meant say keep trucks tow and haul not lift lol. I will keep the stock rims though to save costs. Is that your plan too? Also are you going to replace your UCAs?

Yeah, I have no plans to do any hard off-road driving. Maybe some lite trail stuff. Mostly it's for hauling the family/ hauling camping gear and towing the camper.

If you keep her at 2" of lift or less you will not need UCAs.

I have 2.5" of lift up front with 33s and stock UCAs. Truck runs and handles great.

My rear lift is from Ride Rite air bags. I had to upgrade to OME shocks because all the weight I keep in/ on the truck and the inflated bags ate the stock shocks.

People frequently comment that my truck rides great on and off road.

Not sure how the 2.7's sit from factory, but on my 4.0 access cab I have a 2.5" lift up front and 2" of lift in the rear. I just put on my Leer cap and currently it sits at about 1" higher in the rear. My bed is typically loaded very lightly not including the cap weight. I do tow a small boat in the summer so I like that little bit of height in the back to compensate for the added tongue weight and or cargo in the bed. If I went with 0.85" setting Bilstein with stock coils up front plus 1-1.5" AAL in the rear it would be way high back there unloaded.

Bilsteins all the way around w/883's up front and an add a leaf in the rear will give you a mild lift. I broke a rear leaf and when the local shop had it in, they replaced the leaf and put in an additional 2nd leaf on both sides. I added the 883's and billies which kept the factory rake.

5100's all around set to 0, lean spacer on drivers side, toytec springs, stock uca's for now, wheelers add a leaf/degree shim rear. Measures about 2-1/2" over stock. Stock wheels w/ 1" spacers and 265/75-16 wranglers. Just to give you an idea of how it'll look. This has a 4.0

I would say the ride is better than the stock ride, the duratracs like higher pressures (at least some guys say they do) and I've been trying higher pressures than I've ever run lately (lots of highway miles) but I was typically running 34/32 f/r and it was very plush. Put it this way, my wife doesn't complain and we do a 600 mile round trip to northern Wisconsin every other weekend.

I should mention that I needed the ECGS bushing right after the lift (don't remember if the OP stated his was done) but it's super easy to do (and there's a TSB on it now)

My only misstep was in ordering my spacers... I didn't order them for a hub-centric wheel. I simply turned some 108-106mm adapters and voila, very smooth, no vibes, no wheel shake.

Great idea man. There's quite a few "right" ways and just as many "wrong" I'm sure you've read plenty about each. Lord knows I did before buying anything... Always do. I've lifted/lowered/swapped/fabricated... All sorts of stuff. As much as I'd love a sweet long travel setup, I just don't need it. Doesn't mean go cheap, but just because you're not going sky high or long travel doesn't mean you can't use high quality components and get great results. I wish I had just ordered Dakar leaf packs right off the bat. I should have and I will as soon as the weather improves.

I'm sure you'll be super happy. Just be prepared to lose the mudflaps (and the front air splitter things) with 265/75's at that height. They'll rub, no biggie.

I don't think 265/75/16 tires will rub. I had 265/70/16 at stock height and had absolutely no rubbing at all. I'd think with another inch of height you could run those, no problem. 285s on the other hand, will rub like a sombitch.

i know this is a dumb question, but what is the next size tire up from 245/75/16. don't really want to loose the front mud flaps, don't mind loosing the ones in front of the front tire.

I'd guess you could go 265/70?? I'm not totally sure. And honestly, at 2-1/2" my tires only rubbed those little front things and only in reverse. Removing the mud flaps was just something that was on my list.

I have 5100's all around, only the front are height adjustable and mine are set at 0.85". I don't notice any different 'feel', it's all good.

The rear height is adjustable with Firestine Ride Rite Air Bags. Daily running set at 15 psi, and for heavy loads, up to 35 psi. The back really moves up easily with just a little air added.

I have 265/75-16 Hankook Dynapro ATM tires. They did not rub ever, even before the front Bilsteins were added.

I wanted to remain as close to factory conditions, so that is why no insane lift in the front. The back is more of a load-leveler feature, but it is maybe two inches higher with the air bags, and again, I don't feel any oddness when driving. No more bottoming-out with heavy loads or driving fast. The Ride-Rites (by Firestone) replace the factory bump stops. I had them on my 2005 where the rear suspension was crap and they solved the issue. On my 2010, I only added them in the past year as the better springs were finally getting a little worn. My factory (yellow) Bilsteins failed (leaked) so the 5100s were a natural step up to replace them with. The rears first when I added the air bags, then the front a few months ago.

    Good luck with your changes!

PS, I pulled off the mud flaps when my truck was new... after the first time off-roading and the stupid things pulled off by the tires when going over ruts. Not a bit sorry for removing them and no damage to paint in 6 years of off road and on road driving.
