I see whatcha did there. Too bad I recommended longer coils ;). You know, so not only would OP easily gain the inch he is looking for but so he wouldn't have to put a ton of preload inch the springs. Given he had over 2" of preload, an inch more spring and slightly heavier spring would get him where he wants to be. I'm still disappointed that no one is doing any work on getting their product valved and setup for the 3rd Gen. I'm no coilover god, but even I know 200 lbs of gross weight increase is enough to warrant some quick tuning :). At least it sounds like Icon has changed their website to properly reflect the products lift expectations.

I have ET's on a 2012 DCLB set at 2" of thread. 650# springs. I run 285/70/17's. I also have All Pro end links. Runs like a champ.

I get some rub/pull when I go into on/off ramps a little too hot. Pretty scary actually.

I'm thinking of cranking them up a little more (2 1/2") and doing a CMC come spring. I'm also going to 255/80/17's.

Stop bitchin' and make it work.

Well, the nice thing about Icon, King, Fox, etc, if they ever do release a 2016 specific valve pack, the coil overs can easily be rebuilt, albeit at an added cost. But, you wouldn't have to buy totally new co's. The cdcv valve really does help however, and I know that fox and king both offer a similar set up

Yeah I have 700# coils and I believe they're 16" over the 14" coils that come with them.

You made me smile with a small child in my lap that's still suffering from her first allergic reaction. Thanks .
Oh for sure. I mean technically a good shop could take your truck for a ride and figure out what spring and valving changes need to be made to get the shock rebuilt to being exactly what you want. In all honesty the stock replacement shocks really aren't built for that "perfect ride". However, they are built to be much MUCH better than stock in most ways and have the adjustability to get things darn near perfect, with some extra costs, should you choose to go down that road.

I'm just disappointed that it appears that the major shock shops stopped working after they went to SEMA and figured out the old product they had fit rather than holding back until they had a 2016 to do some tuning and release a superior product.

nope, but if you want he can tell you everything about how great GM is and how he loves the G80 diff.

From what I've read from ARB/OME they are working with the 3rd gen for the BP51. Thing is the 2016 is still rather new. Give it time. I am sure whether it be the bp51 or the Icons or any coils for that matter, give it time. All these companies are in a rush to get something released, but might not have done the full calcs.
And again this is why I am waiting until next year to pick up my taco and parts. Rather wait for all the bugs to be worked out.

But to OP, that absolutely sucks, hopefully things work out.

:notsure: AFAIK there haven't been any recent skirmishes ;). It doesn't look like the airforce boy who thinks I'm unemployed has been on for a while. I wonder if he's bought a truck yet lol.

The OP has a bunch of comments in a thread started by Toytec about lift kits for 2016. I just skimmed through quickly, but I pretty sure it is toytec explaining why the same kits for gen 2 are only getting 2" lift with the same parts. Skimming through it, it seems it has something to do with body alignment or something on the gen3. it explains that while not getting as much lift, you still get the same amount of suspension travel. then there is the whole weight thing on top of that. I also see one of the main complainers clearly doesn't know how to measure lift, as they are measuring from the ground to the fender

Yup. You can't blame Toytec for selling something as it was described to them. As others have said, solutions have been presented to OP. The ball is in his court to fix his issue.

lol I just remember how much you loved the G80 and seemed to praise GM. Found it odd for a tacoma based site that someone would be such a fan of GM. But meh I won't actually argue the G80 is a rather impressive diff. I'm just a fan of air lockers lol.

Didn't mean to come off as a dick lol
