I recently purchased a 2007 TRD, I live on a farm and do a lot of off-roading. The truck is on 245s, off-road the front suspension is smooth, but the rear feels like it's going to get snatched out...is that due to bad shocks possibly? Also I am thinking about lifting the truck and running 265 or 275s what lifts are recommended? I read a thread that said not to do spacers. How bad would a doing this mess with my fuel economy? I am in college and have a limited budget. Thanks

If its a true TRD then 245s are the wrong size tires.

What size do you recommend? I am also in the market for new tires and was looking into 265/70-16 or 265/75-16 BFG All Terrains.

265/75/16 will fit stock with no lift. If you off-road, then you should buy Bilstien 5100 shocks for the lift. If your truck is really a TRD model, your tires should've already been that size btw, so you should get stock MPG.

Is it a Sport (hood skewp)
    Or OffRoad (rear locking diff)

Off Road. I plan on adding 5100s to both the front and the rear in a about six months though.

I suggest saving your money until then. Don't waste your money on a spacer lift if you plan to change out the shocks soon anyways. How much do you plan to lift?

I was thinking just 1 inch in the front. Not looking for anything too drastic.

Just stick with 265/75/16 then and you will be fine. You can try a 32" tire if you're okay with trimming a bit. As for the actual tires, I've heard nothing but good about the new BFG KO2s. That's what I plan on buying next.

I'm not sure. It depends on your area I guess. Theres probably a thread on here to show you how to install them yourself if you got the tools and time.

I figured 265 was stock because my speedometer is off. Guy who had it before downsized the tires for better fuel economy I guess.

Okay thanks! The Bilstein 5100 Shocks, you said for the lift, you mean have them along with the lift or they lift?
