Anyone hear of combining Old Man Emu coils/shocks w/the Fabtech 6" basic lift?
I just installed the ARB winch bumper which destroyed the ride quality of my Toytec coilovers (much heavier front end now). I've wanted to raise my Taco from 3" to 6" anyway and am planning on using OME 885 coils and the N182 shocks along with the Fabtech 6" spacer getting a total of 7.75 inches.
The rear will utilize the blocks and probably 2 add-a-leafs since I have a heavy Snugtop shell.
Any comments/concerns will be extremely helpful.
    Thanks

I think it can be done. My roommates brother just bought a 05 w/ a 6" fabtech basic w/ 5100's set at 1.75 and it looks sick. CVs are still fine on it.

The guys at 4WheelParts recommended doing this lift since ride quality was my primary concern. ARB website states the coils only lift them 1.75 inches. They said after it settles with my bumper, total lift should be perfect for 35's

yeah, my 885s are sitting at 1.75" right now. On that truck I saw this weekend, he still rubs some 35x12.50x17 Toyo MTs on the cab mount a little when turned and partially stuffed. There was also some plastic on the inside of the fender wells that was trimmed and the mudflaps were off as well. oh, and the wheels are the same ones I have on my truck and they're a 5" BS/ 0mm offset so it cant be a wrong offset on the wheels causing the issue. He joined on here but I dont think he has pics up- "russelzilla"

i think you should be fine the drop bracket makes the cv's almost stock angle so you can add alittle more lift just dont go crazy and try to make it too tall and dumb looking

The overall stance of your truck inspired me to drop my 3" and get the 6" as well add the 35's. Tacomas look sick with that setup!!

Just got it back from 4wheelparts and it's a bit too high and my CV's are tweaking. I really wanted the OME ride quality but combining the 6" spacer is too much. I'm bummed cause the front is a bit higher than the rear. Any idea how much the OME 885 coils will settle?

They'll settle, it's just going to take some time. Make sure you hit potholes, bumps, etc... in the road to help settle the coils faster. The best thing to do it go offroad and flex a little. :D

Also, take what 4wheelparts says with a grain of salt.

I went into the store to ask them what the difference in ride quality/performance between fox shocks, king shocks, and OME's were. The reply I got was "they're different colors". The owner told me that with a straight face and he wasn't young either!

Thaats what Toytec uses, which I had on the "Ultimate" lift before I added the Fabtech 6". the ride quality is decent but OME feels more solid

6" plus OME 885 coils/shocks. It's atleast 8 inches in the front. My CV's are sitting close to 40 degrees

the ride quality is bit too harsh and the CV's are slightly tweaked@ 40 degrees. i gotta figure out a way to keep the OME with this 6". If it have a 4 or 5" spacer that would be perfect.

yea that looks a little steep i would like to see a side by side of a 3inch lift and that to see what the cv would compare too
