I finally got it out of there by 8:45pm after the finance guy told me 1000 different parts that could break and after still refusing his warranties he breaks out a pamphlet that unfolded bigger than his desk showing everything that could go wrong. Told him he was making me not want the truck. Didn't phase him. Pissed me off so much. I know it's his job but he took it way too far and ruined my car buying experience. Starting to calm down and finally enjoy the truck. image.jpg

I would have taken the pamphlet, walked out of the office, dropped in the hallway, and then walked back in

So many things I should have done but didn't. But after their follow up call and me unloading on them about the relentless high pressure sales and preying on fears they had me tell the story to 3 different managers and the last one had me meet with the GM this afternoon. He was good. He knew he couldn't turn back the clock and give me the excitement of driving my new truck home after the long wait. We started talking about how modified the trucks are and that a lot of the warranty stuff might get voided by it. Then he offered me $500 toward any aftermarket item from anywhere. Unexpected and appreciated. Now to start shopping.

Did they film your finance and payment session? When you say it's too much pressure, that's a big deal to the state of wherever you love. If they are said to be pressuring you to buy things, they will pull out the film and say see, you looked calm while signing the paperwork

Deposit was made 11/19.... Just got call that an allocation is coming up beginning of januarary. This isn't a build date am I correct? Also when they finally build truck how long before it gets to the Northeast?

Pretty sure the allocation date is the date the build starts and your build date is the date it rolls out of the factory.

No set amount of time it will take for shipment but mine took about 3-4 weeks to arrive.

Question for others more familiar with the factories: The door jamb information says mine was built in Baja, CA. I thought they came from Mexico or Texas (?).

NM... answered my own questions by googling the location of the mexico plant... appears it's just a few miles from the CA border.

That's just when the dealer actually gets that specific truck allocated to them. I put my deposit down on 9/17 and got the allocation around 10/12. If you have a temporary vin you can tell the build week by the 2 numbers before the letter in the last 6 digits. Mine was 3TMCZ5AN0GM45A429 so it was supposed to have been built on the 45th week of the year which was the week of 11/14. It was delayed and actually built on 12/9 with a dealer ETA of 12/29-1/04 to Ma. so about 3 weeks from MX.

No I wasn't on film unless they have secret cameras. It's not that they pressured me into anything. It was him trying to pressure me into a warranty that I said no to and he kept telling me EVERY SINGLE thing that could break on the truck that pissed me off to no end. I get it. Shit breaks. I got a Toyota so I don't have to lose sleep over that. He kept going back to the start button and key fob which I really didn't want to begin with because I paddle board and surf. Still trying to find the best solution for leaving the fob in the truck. So I started questioning my decision which led me to driving my new truck home irritated and not excited. That was the issue.

Im buying my truck for Mexico and put a deposit the 1st of december with an eta of mid Feb. Most dealers in Mexico are sold out until august because of the strong demand for the Tacoma in the US.

Got my truck last week just before Christmas Eve. No time to really think about anything other than getting all the paperwork taken care of.

Floor mats are on "national backorder" so I took it home without floor mats. Put my 2012 all weather mats in temporarily. They'll work until the weathertechs are delivered.

Took it up to the mountain yesterday to go x-country skiing. Never had a need for anything but 4H, worked great. Had zero concerns about getting into and out of the snow-filled parking lots.

Here's a shitty photo I took of the truck at the dealer. Gonna have to do a legit photo shoot at some point...

^ Yay for Grey, it was my 2nd choice but it was a longer wait...

My Sr5 grill arrived today, decals are here, and weathertechs are in tomorrow. My truck was supposed to be here, but our highways are screwed! I may see it tomorrow otherwise I'll settle for a red or black offroad access cab.

I also ordered Ipike RW11's gonna stud them when they arrive tomorrow and put them on during the PDI.

Other dealership did the PDI and block heater but they installed it in the nice spot rather than the suggested spot.

Weathertechs showed up as I was posting this! Weeee!
