My dad just selected this beautiful Sig 1911 as his 2015 Christmas present! Now just 10 days and she's part of the family!

Yeah, let me find the link but I believe it was aimed at brownells for the ultimate M&P contest where they ported a factory slide and retained the S&W logos on visibly modified parts.

I believe it said something about safety and intellectual property.

Nope, I just ran a Google search and pulled it up, IIRC alien gear holsters shared it via Facebook and that's how I saw it originally.

The last paragraph is interesting though, apparently next year is 2015.

Actually got to talk to a friend about this when I saw him last. (hes a SEAL member) He brought up some reason reasons. But the main was just weight and size. Pistol is pretty much never their go to gun so why lug around a full size gun when your pistol is more of a last option sort of deal.

I saw his point of view...even though its ounces smaller size is better. I personally could careless if they use glocks or Sig's as both are proven guns that work great.

Got a few guns pointed at us at the range tonight. Women were limp wristing and when it jammed, they were just swinging it anywhere. We talked to the guys at the counter about how they needed a range officer out there and they said they were under staffed. Meanwhile 3 guys were bullshitting in the corner. And they were packed but I guess didn't want to pay a range officer. They said to let them know next time that happens, so I guess they're willing to take the risk of someone getting shot.

Wow. Seems it's cheaper to pay someone a weekly paycheck than a lawsuit settlement. Good lord.

If you signed a release to use the range they might not be liable at all. I know the indoor range I used to go to the release form pretty much said they were responsible for nothing.

On another note been a good week getting guns for my dad and I. My dads dentist (who he has been going to for 30 years or so) wanted to get rid of 3 rifles and 2 pistols (so far). No pictures right now though but heres what he had

-Tula Russian SKS (never shot by Dentist)- all matching numbers in very good condition
-Chinese SKS (shot very little)- all matching numbers but the stock is only in "fair" condition. Couple big dings. But metal is all good.
-Norinco Mak90 (shot but well taken care of) - Nothing fancy but its in great shape with a thumbhole stock.
    - Colt 1911 Government (shot under 100 rounds) - thing looks nearly brand new. 95% or better condition. Was totally dry of lube so we took it apart and cleaned it and confirmed it had hardly ever been shot.
-Ruger Sp101 357mag 2.25" barrel (shot, maybe carried for a bit) - In good condition but not the best condition. Still good condition for a used gun though.

The dentist pretty much told my dad to make an offer...he just kind of wants them gone. Well my dad has no idea on value of guns (when it comes ot used). So for the first three rifles he got a good deal. But once I kind of told him what they were really worth he went back and gave the Dentist a bit more money. Probably the first time anyone has done that but when its a friend its not the end of the world. Anyways we basically paid the value of the gun that the dentist would have gotten if he had traded in them into a gun store or pawn shop. So win win for everyone involved!

Sadly the only gun Ill get is the Ruger. Not that it matter much since my dad lives 20 minutes away and I have access ot his safe anyways!

This will result into someone catching a ricochet off the light guard down to the floor and back into the side of the head, (happened to me in 2012) first thing they said to me was " you signed a release" they offered me a free year of shooting passes. And they banned the person who was shooting next tome that fired the shots(rapid fire).

Both are solid choices. I own a glock 17 and I plan to purchase a mod 2 chambered in .45 in the near future.

No need for a range officer. Put the fear of God in them yourself. Make them realize how serious of a mistake they made. I've seen that happen at the range and done a wtf and gotten the "it's not a big deal." Well yeah it kind of is a big deal dumbass.

Love my Glock 19. Goes bang EVERY time. I personally just don't like the grip on the XD. Maintenance is simple with my Glock 19 as well. Fewer parts, seems like less to potentially get messed up.

    Again, just my 2 cents!

Wait, I meant glock now I guess.

Both are good choices, shoot both and see which you're more inherently accurate with.
