I have been lazy, I ordered my Extang like a week and a half ago, got it like the 22nd but been busy and wx has been shitty. But it looks impressive in the box so we will see will be putting it on tomorrow when the wx clears up to a high of clear and 75...(Da Faq...where's my snow?). When I spoke to the guy at my local TrickTrucks store he said that they get a decent amount of complaints about the Ruggedliner leaking and AutoAccessoriesGarage.com told me the same thing about the delay in the shipping so I went with the extang. Will post pics and review tomorrow!

I got the Extang. I haven't driven in the rain any and I park under a carport so I'm not sure about home water tight/proof it is. However, I read tons of reviews on several covers on several different websites and I learned quick not to expect a completely dry bed with any one of them. I wanted a sturdy cover and one that looks good and this hits that mark. I'd say it's the closest to the factory cover you can buy aftermarket but it doesn't require cutting your bed caps all up like the factory one.

No rain this week. Looks like it might get some rain from the tail gate. Looks pretty good I like the lights and how it mounts. If I ever get a dirt bike I can lay it down and when I am leaving on a trail I can put the cover back on and take it off when I am finish with the ride.

Is that one pic above showing that it can easily support the weight of a dead hooker on it, or that you could fit a dead hooker in the bed with the cover...? lol, you guys that installed the extang already, did your instructions tell you to cut the top of the liner or did you do the alternative mounting brackets? I don't want to cut to be honest...

Yep I did. You'll have to remove the rubber inserts at the end of the track closest to the tailgate to be able to use the rear brackets

Sweet, both these covers look great. I am planning to get a tailgate seal as well. I might take your suggestion Drifter. There wont be any rain this week, but time will tell.

seriously... the amount I paid for the truck I might as well be safe. It does look like it would need it so I might as well prepare for the worst.

Let me know how well it seals and if it makes your tailgate hard as hell to close

Right...38-42kish what's another $20.00, also what is the difference between using the alternative bracket to the normal mounting method...I know we kinda got off topic there for a moment and it's probably an obvious difference, it's obviously escaping me haha.

your right. it may make the tailgate hard to close. My cover is making it slightly harder since the seals haven't broken in yet. I think I may have to sit out on this and see everyones opinion or wait till the tailgate seal of my cover to get a little easier before moving torwards the seal.

I seen a thread going around with the 62541-04010 and 62542-04010 for a seal, but that's for the part near the cab.

The seals for the back of the bed by the cab is what I'm extremely interested in. I'd rather use some fitted seals rather than some foam or silicone.

Yeah, most of us jump the gun for a cover is based on availability. My initial interest was the bakflip or the Fold a CoverG4, but no one is releasing it yet and I need a cover for the winter for storage. Please keep reviewing the covers as more get released.
