hey guys, long time no post but recently ive been more and more into the older toyota pickups like the pre 99 trucks. i guess the ones before they were given the tacoma name. anyhow i was wondering if i was the only one who wishes toyota would go back to the mid size truck like they used to be. instead of the huge "mid size" tacomas we have now.

anywho yeah...im thinking bout either keeping my 03 or just trading it for a older 4x4 toy truck.

Nope, I love how big the Tacomas are now and would never think of taking a step in the older direction.

i agree with you. I think the newer tacomas look awkward and I like the older look as well.

I like the smaller trucks and think Toyota should come out with a new line of small trucks again.

for all who have an 05 or newer I mean know disrespect but bigger trucks make it more Ford/Chevy/Dodge like than ever before. Toyota made it rep on small light trucks and really needs to offer them again. If I want a big truck there is always a Tundra.....

If it weren't for the DC tacomas, I'm not sure if I would still own one. After having a 99 reg cab (pre offspring) and having to buy an access Tundra 02 (just before birth) I find the Tacoma DC (of any gen) to be the perfect size. Although I wish I had a LB.

I like the philosophy of the old toyotas better. No nonsense base trucks.

The new Tacomas are still a very small truck.

HAHAHA no they aren't small!! The DC model is huge, especially with the long bed.
Just like America, the Tacoma got fatter;)

The basic, no-nonsense stuff that Toyota used to be known for is gone; the new Tacomas are too fancy to deserve that title.

I personally think the 95.5-04 tacos are the best (excluding DC, they're a nice size, but the bed is just too short to be practical for my uses, so I don't much like them). Perfect size body/engine options (3RZ and 5VZ are both great for the truck) and of course it must be a manual:D.

I like the older mini trucks, but the 3.0 is such a shitty engine that one must get a 22re, which limits the options.

I like the size of the new one. The older ones were a little too puny but I loved that you could get them with a manual TCase and no electronic assists.
