I prefer my TRDOR to actually look like the truck I paid for.

IMHO stickers don't age well, so I don't care for them on a painted surface.

Do a little more reading around here regarding bull bars before you commit your $. You might reconsider.

Just my thoughts, as you asked. If you like it that's all that really matters.

If they don't age well, in a couple years spend $40 and replace them. If you can't afford that, you'd be driving a 2002 Kia Rio.

    Interesting. Thanks for the advice.

What I should have said is that neither the stickers nor the paint underneath them age well. Or actually that the paint underneath ages better than the rest of the vehicle, so when the sticker is gone, you can tell where it was.

Point being if the vehicle is a long term keeper, *I* prefer the paint to age equally. So for me, stickers are for glass or chrome bumpers. Or the tool box.

I mean that was the first thing I pulled off a '69 Judge. The big 'ole stripe and the name sticker. I guess that was more to reduce attention being drawn to it before I could earn some extra mod money from Chevelle and Road Runner owners though............. :anonymous:

As I said originally. If the OP likes it, that's all that matters. He asked for thoughts. That's what I gave.

Okay, if you're going to take them off years from now and not replace them, fair point.

While we are on the topic of emblems/stickers...I notice your truck doesn't have the chrome SR5 emblems on the rear doors. Did you remove them, or do some of these trucks come without them?

I de-badged everything except for the side Tacoma emblems. I think it gives the truck a clean look. I did add the black vinyl tailgate letters.

LOL! Fair enough Aussiek200, but saving the "purist" mentality (meaning a truck should only be equipped with its associated and standard OEM markings), do you honestly think the stickers look worse on than not having them at all? I'm asking about aesthetics, here, not whether my intent should be classified as "sane".

Because, after looking at the clean ride Mike G. has created, it has me thinking about removing them...

Good looking truck...but why did you put TRD decals on a truck that isn't a TRD?

Hey, it's your truck, man. Just seems odd to false badge to me when it's a great truck on its own.

Thanks. It may be a bit odd, but like you said, it's my truck. When I bought it, it had pinstripes (which I personally hate). I was looking for something to add a little "sporty-ness" and the stickers seemed to be a cheap way to achieve that. I actually did not know at the time of purchase that the stickers were model specific. Rather, I thought "either you have the side graphics or not". Then a friend of mine bought a "sport", so I knew I didn't want stickers that said "sport", so I bought the TRD 4x4 "off road". I thought the TRD, just meant Toyota Racing Development-which I have seen on 2wd models.(?) Next, I thought "mine is 4x4-so that means off road capable",right? The whole process seemed logical. After I stuck them on, and after reading and learning more about Tacomas, I realized that ALL of the stickers were specific to certain trim levels. But they were already on and I thought they looked good. I am somewhat torn with the whole "it's not authentic" propaganda, so I may end up removing them.

If you like the look of a bed decal but don't want to appear to be a wannabe, there are other options. For example:

dude if you like the stickers i would keep them. i feel TRD is a state of mind more than anything else. i have a base model 4x4, i had some custom "base camp tacoma" stickers made. i wanted to have something different. i did put a black "TRD" badge were my taco badge was on the doors. its your truck, make it how you want it,screw everybody else, and have fun with it.
